give them a big fat neg!

i had an auction going for an item a few weeks ago,and received a message from some ebayer saying why was i selling the item for that much?when it was available cheaper.

i drew their attention to the fact that they were comparing it to a different model, and challenged them to find the same item cheaper elseware!

i knew for a fact that the item was not available elseware at the time due to it being a new release, and the only one on ebay! interfering "idiot"

Another email from them this afternoon says that they were emailled by another ebay member telling them about how my item was a rip off. How can I be ripping anyone off if they bid that amount themselves? They also said that if I continue to rip them off they will report me to ebay  I get so confused about where these people are coming from. They only have 3 feedback and are new ebayers. They obviously have a lot to learn yet. Yes i did give them a negative.

Sounds like they are right uns! I would just not bother replying to any of his emails and forget about him!

He has obviously bid on something to get it upto that amount - I mean what must his highest bid have been! He knew what he was paying - hes trying it on!

  • Ebay is getting silly. I have had emails from bidders saying they can get the item cheaper from xyz shop.

I ignore them, but whoopeeeeee - why don't they just sod off and buy it from there then?

I agree, eBay is a total waste of time nowadays - too many idiots............

i think it boils down to the fact that because it was purchased from EBAY then the buyer expects a bargain! "all bargains come from ebay" ;)

afterwards they then find out they could have purchased it elseware cheaper, they then try to blame the seller! LMAO

if buyers are too lazy to search the whole WWW for the best price, accept it!

  • Let them report you - there is nothing to answer. There are no rules about the item price, you didn't inflate the postage, you started the auction at a low amount, assuming there was no shill bidding then the final price was out of your hands. Give the bots at Ebay something to laugh over.

I think the buyer was a sod to neut you though, but I assume your feedback can take the neut a lot better than theirs can take the neg.

I've overpaid once or twice and chalked it up to experience, I've also had stuff go for more than I thought it was worth. I've seen items being sold on Ebay by dropshippers who are getting them from Amazon, I've seen stuff listed as being from Ikea selling for more than Ikea sell it for.

Couldn't have said it better myself - covered the lot ! To highlight this I've recently sold an Ebay shop item (so cheap listing fees) that I had listed for 3 months - a hard to find item that I had a couple of examples of - not a big seller but its almost all profit as they are rare laptop hinge covers for a Dell model stripped from non-working units. I sold one set on Ebay standard auction for £25 but failed to sell the other set so put on as shop item. I had about 4 emails complaining that I was charging too much and "you are a ripoff" etc then sold it for £25 - very happy buyer couldn't get them anywhere else and needed to have a presentable laptop in front of customer.

Life is too short to waste complaining about a price to someone you won't do business with ! Would you walk into PC World and complain to the manager that their prices are too high and walk out again ?

More like someone reading this thread has been contacting my ebay customers and I know who they are.

Some people can and do. They will happily waste time complaining that you aren't selling the item as cheap as XYZ.com and seem bewildered at the suggestion that they go and buy it at XYZ.com
