Sorry to hear about Flyn Taplady - as you say, not a nice homecoming. Our Buster (border collie) was 16+ too - he left us six months ago, and he's still left a huge gap in all our lives.
DS2 still n hospital with pancreatitis, so have been tearing round today so that I could get in two visits. Loads of painrelief and fluids. Hopefully it'll calm down soon. Managed to get a casserole in the slow cooker so we did get dinner at least! Washing dried outside again, and laundry basket was empty for a short while! Hope you've all had a good day.Resolution:

Taplady....how sad for you, but nice for Flyn that he didn't have to be put to sleep, I will never forget the look on my my dogs' faces when we had to have it done...hugs
Been rather a cool and windy day here, had DGS2 for a couple of hours this morning as his Mammy was on a course and Daddy was working in the morning....he had a 'project' going on in the bathroom to shrink something so that kept him busy for a while, then he headed off out with the 2 dogs, having ordered pancakes for his lunch.
DS2 seems to be enjoying his time in London, hated it first time round about 7 years ago, this time he is in Camden, crosses the road to get bus short journey to work, can go the other way on same bus to see DD2 and family.
Hoping to go to market to-morrow morning...just to see what its like really as don't want to spend any money, have gone madly over with GC already this month, not sure how I did that, think that I will have to start leaving OH at home when I shop.
Brain is not functioning too well to-day, can't remember what anyone said earlier on.
Hugs to Ladygrim, PenPin, and anyone else who needs one

thankyou all for your kind thoughts regarding Flyn, I am very touched. I have been giving Mig our remaining dog lots of cuddles and a nice new bed as I couldn't let him sleep in the one he shared with Flyn.
We've just got back from DS1s flat:eek: OMG Kim and Aggie would have had there work cut out there! its all done now ready for an inspection by the landlord tomorrow - we want to make sure he gets his deposit back. I'm not joking when I say it was absolutely disgusting and DH had some rather stern words with DS. I am now off for a well earned soak in the bath - I'm shattered after everything today.
take care all x x xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Taplady just got in from an evening at my Dds .sorry to hear about your dog.I'm not much of an animal person, but I can understand how you must feel after all those years. My eldest DD had to take her beloved 'Barny' a very old Lab to be put to sleep nearly 9 years ago and she still mourns him now.She says he was always there when she felt low and would rest his great old whiskery yellow face on her lap as if he knew she needed a snuggle. She is one of the most brisk,no-nonsence type of ladies you could meet, but she was very sad when her dog finally had to go.Her and her OH had bought him as a tiny pup who was the runt of the litter and was going to be put down then as he didn't look as good as his siblings ,yet he was a dear old thing and they had him for 15 years. My youngest DD has two dogs, one who is getting along a bit but is so gentle with the children (he was a rescue dog) and a tiny Jack Russell miniature her OH bought for her at Christmas.Although I have no animals I can see the attraction as they are good company.
Today has been a busy one I did a good bit of baking this morning then this afternoon went to Dds and had dinner tonight and we had a bit of a family day as her in-laws had come down from London.so we watched the F.A. cup Well done to chelsea I shall see my DGS Jack,10, tomorrow afternoon. I bet he was pleased as he is a firm Chelsea fan.
Just going off to have a read in bed Hope everyone has a peaceful and pain-free night
Good night God Bless all here

Thankyou jackieO - thats the thing about dogs - they always love you, no matter what you look like or have done, they are always ready for a cuddle and its lovely to be welcomed home by a waggy tail!
I'm sad of course but I know he was struggling, poor chap and I'm so glad I didn't have to resort to taking him to the vets.DH assures me he wasn't in pain or suffering so for Flyns sake I'm glad its over.Do what you love :happyhear0
