Well
I saw the advert on Tv telling me I can have HD channels for free:j:j:
and a free HD Box :j:j:j well they" should charge me £49 but will waive this just for me":rotfl:( and 50 million others).
Here comes the kicker having these free sevices bumps my bill up £16 or £21 for a V+ HD box:eek::eek::eek:.
I`m not naive enough to think I would not pay anything extra for 15 extra channels(over my freeview choice) most of which are pretty poor IMHO and the 3 free HD channels, but I do feel as if some one has tried to take advantage of me and not in a good way either:D.
So is it just me or are Virgin taking the P!

this really confused me too... it says have HD for no extra cost but when go online and tick the box for it the payment goes up £5 a month.
I'm also thinking of switching from sky to them but its the movies that confuse me, can you watch the 'anytime' movies with out adding the movies to your package?0 -

I've been considering this for a while and after seeing the HD for free ad thinking about giving them a call tomorrow - We've been virgin customers for nearly 10 years now so hoping there will be no charge for the V+ box0

You dont own any equipment from VM,be it SACM or V+ box. What you are paying for is the set up & installation.
When you leave VM you have to return the equipment or you'll be billed for it.

It's free if you have or take take the XL TV package which is £21 per month, so you will get all the extra channels XL gives you as well as the HD ones.0 -
There's two HD boxes:
- V+ HD (the one with a hard drive) is free on XL but an extra £5 a month on all lower tariffs
- V HD (the new one with no hard drive) is free on M+ upwards.
There may be £49 one off set up fees etc. though.
If you're ticking the box and £5 a month is going on your bill you must be ticking the V+ boxOut of Darkness Cometh Light, Out of Sandwell Cometh S***e...0 -
One thing I forgot to say is that because the equipment belongs to VM,they can do a service call for free where Sky charge £65 for a call out & then you get a reconditioned box which will probably be older than your faulty one.
With VM you get a like for like replacement.0 -
what happens when they come to "install" is it pretty simple?0
