in Credit cards
Some ****ard has been using my card fraudulently. I went to use it today and it was declined (o the shame). Phoned credit card and there is a transaction that I haven't made on there. Grrrr. What will happen now? Will I get the money credited back? Should I cancel my debit card? I don't know how they have done it I use ASDA home shop, Tesco, Makro, and my local vets. No dodgy sites at all so (did do a phone order to currys though). I haven't used it anywhere else ever.

Wildly my mind beats against you, yet the soul obeys. :heartpuls

You should be covered by the bank/credit card co. They may ask you to report it to the police. If you have endeavoured to keep your card safe, not left the pin no with it etc then you should be reimbursed. Might be a bit if a fight with the card issuer though..Every day above ground is a good day.0

Sounds odd does that. Has anyone else had access to the card at all? What was the company that the fraudulent transaction was made?Weight Loss - 102lb0

You only really need to cancel the card on which the fraud has occured - unless you have lost your wallet/ purse at some time it is unlikely the same person has got all of your cards details.
You need to telephone the disputed payments department of the card issuer and they will talk you through the process. With the two times it happened to me my card issuer simply sent a form which I had to fill in and sign and the money was refunded a few days after they would have received the form. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I had a card cloned once. I was going on a cruise departing from Barcelona and spent the night before in a hotel. I used the card to pay from dinner drinks etc. and a few weeks later when my statement came I saw purchases made in France and I had not been to France. To cut a long story short it is a favourite trick to clone the cards of cruise goers because they will not be using the card themselves for a while. Cruises are cashless and you lodge your card with them so they bill you at the end of the holiday.0

Hotels and restaraunts are a big problem, because before chip and pin and still now with places that dont have C&P installed they would take your card away from you whilst your still at the table/bar and use it in the till at the reception desk. The card is leaving your sight so the potential-fraud gates are wide open as any dodgy employee could be copying those card details down.
I would not use a card in a hotel or restaraunt but If I did I would insist they bring a wireless chip & pin terminal to the table or if they don't have this tell the waiter that I will come to the reception till myself in order to pay.
Also I wouldn't let a Hotel keep my card for 'security' during the stay either which I've heard happens, They should swipe the card at the till give it you back and they have your details in the computer should you attempt to do a bunk without paying.0 -

Are all these places where you've used the card Chip and Pin or is there anywhere you think you might have 'signed' for the purchases. Its more likely that your card could have been cloned from handing the card over than through a hacked Chip & Pin terminal.0 -
