Aw how was last night's date night?
Me and OH were too supposed to have date night last night but OH's mum had DS at short notice on Friday and we felt it was too much to ask her againThe good intention was there, I think investing regular time is good - after all it's sooo easy to forget we're in a couple for a reason despite the everyday mundanities:)
I might do a 100 day challenge when I get myself organised - having something written down always makes it more real and I think it's good to have something to focus on.Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

I quite like the look of your challenge. If you don't mind, I may borrow some ideas. I showed it to DH, and he's on board to try it as well. Yay! Good luck on your challenge!!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Jo and Triggles - the challenge idea is from Memory Girls Make do and Mend thread. There is quite a few of us over there who are doing the challenge, the motivation is great! I was so tempted last night to have a drink and I didn't because I wanted another day to go into my challenge lol.
Jo - DH and I were saying the same thing on Saturday as we walked home (very MS!) Its so easy to forget that actually we are married and not just Mummy and Daddy IYSWIM. Almost seems sad that we have to almost 'pencil' each other in our dairies to make sure we have some proper time together.
Go to go to Tescos later so won't be a NSD today. Yesterday we took the kids out for a cheap lunch for DH's birthday as a family but we both pigged ourselves so no dinner at night needed so MS there lol!
Right, need to work on doing something DFW. Will be back later!Trying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings
MFW target 2012 to save £11,000 for Over Payments/fill ISA's and reduce lots of things - outgoings, alcohol, waste, weight0 -
Have been into Tesco and somehow spent £60 (OMG!!!!). Have a rough idea but want to fully check receipt, spent £4 washpowder/£4 smellies/£3 cards/£7 wine/£2 reduced chicken. Needed to do a stock up on stuff like their own decaf coffee we drink, cornflakes as DH will only eat a certain brand and Lidl don't sell them. But that includes NO fresh stuff as plan to go to Lidl tomorrow for that, really need to go through my receipt.
Right just done 20 minutes 'Abs' workout, waiting for The Shred to come to really try and get in shape - DH has agreed to do it with me although we are both slightly scared after watching Youtube clips.
Off to tidy some drawers as a start for my challenge, then get boys up, get ready and go to a party at softplay. xxTrying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings

Feeling really chocked off today. DH's car has been desperate for tyres for a while so took in the garage this morning for one only to text me that actually all four need replacing and its £440. Now the price is good (the old car cost about that for one) and he needs a car, he goes all over the country for work but just sick of having to keep throwing money at things. I know its life but today its 'not fair' *stands foot in truly childish manner*. Just as the end seems in sight with clearing the cc we have to put more money onto it, of course I've not got any money aside for car work either.
Hhhhmmmmm.
So, done a few bits of the challenge list, totally tided the house as it was a tip and put away the three (!!!) loads of ironing I did yesterday. Washer already been on and thats hanging out, next load is currently in. The weather is good here today but not so great for rest of week so will try and do two more delicate washes too to clear the basket.
Really struggling to do some DFW things now all the 'big' things have been addressed. Guess its just a case of plodding along now to clear the card and work on spending as little as possible. Checked the bank accounts and think if I go to Lidl today to be able to do the babys batch cooking, by the time the debit leaves the CHB will hit so it should be okay and avoid going overdrawn.

SAHM - I'm having a "it's not fair" day today too, if that helps. Some days are just like that, I think. I have to console myself with the idea that they're not ALL like that. Okay, I'm over it now
Have grown up since my last post (glad its not just me Triggles who feels like this sometimes)
Been to Lidl and spent £30 mostly on fresh stuff to convert into about 30ish baby meals. Plus pasta, butter, milk, etc.
First 'Shred' done - really liked it. I like the short bursts of the circuits as it keeps the motivation going for me. Just keep focussing on one of the girls at the back thinking 'I want those abs, I want those abs'. Plus I don't want to eat anything else tonight which is a massive plus for me.
Have been a bit of a meanie and re-gifted something ready for DS1 school friends party on Friday. No real other news to report. Hopeflly tomorrow will be a cooking day and get some more things done.Trying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings

Hope you dont mind me climbing on board - l have read through your thread and though l am much much older a Grandmother in fact, l can remember the struggles myself at rearing children on a limited budget. I also like to get bits and pieces for the GC and have realised just how dear some things are.
I know exactly how annoyed you must be feeling about the car tyres. All we ever do is save up to pay for repairs on our old banger. At the moment getting another car is out of the question so the old dear has to be kept on the road.
I have seen you on the Make Mend and Do and am doing the challenge too. :j Its such a good idea and Memory Girl is an amazing lady with her thrifty ways - she has actually got me started on doing the same.
Anyway l hope its ok for me to post on here occasionally

Can I ask, what kinds of tyres are you getting for 4 for £440?
I ask because although I am no car expert, I have never paid that much!Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63
