I love the stuff on the Organised Mum site as well, I'm just too cheap to order from it. LOL I browse through their stuff to get ideas to make up on my own on the computer.
I prefer to put my pages in a loose leaf binder as then if I mess up a page, I can redo it and put it in the binder again. In a bound purchased book, I can't do that. (can't tell there's a bit of OCD there, can you?:rotfl:)
The nice thing about scheduling time for yourself is that then you can honestly say (when someone asks you to do something) "sorry, I've got plans already" and you're telling the truth!!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
What is this Organised Mum I keep hearing about - must check it out!
Glad DS is looking better - kids do have a tendency to be quite resilient with stuff like that, we wander round fussing if they're sick and they make such a miraculous recovery you wonder if you imagined it all!
I'm a great fan of 'what I've achieved' lists, sometimes I use them instead of a 'To Do' list and jot things down as the day goes by. Even little things - when you're at home you don't always realise just how much you are doing fitted in amongst the other 'bigger' things.Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Jo - google Organised mum (don't think I'm allowed to put a link) its fab for us list people! They sell diaries that are proper life planners - it has pages for budgets, shopping list, to do lists, christmas planning - fab!
I brought the pocket size diary last year after having the big version of it and I don't like it as much as the big one. Going to have one with a cover so all my papers and receipts can go inside it. Not cheap but asking for it as a birthday present in August, as it starts in September it'll be perfect timing, think for what you get they are value for money. Plus the cover should keep coming in year after year.
Had a bit of an impontau get together this morning with friends and their children. They have been playing out all morning and then had some lunch with us. Not so good as I had to do a quick dash for lunch things before they came so will go overdrawn now about £10 but worth it to see friends.
DS just chilling now with tv, I'm following Budget online. So far not too bad for us, only thing that will affect us up to yet is the frozen child benefit as thats the only thing we are entitled to. Frozen is fine, it was the stopping of it that worried me, the frozen council tax is a help too. Not quite sure how the VAT rise affects us though.
List time for the motivation for keeping a track of everything I've achieved:- Usual daily jobs - washing up, baby bottles, beds made and upstairs tidy, downstairs tidy, hoover through downstairs, kitchen granite buffed.
- Running tally of alcohol free days 3/3 (to be 4/4 later hopefully)
- Top up shop and friends over
- sewing - school trousers hem
- pay school trip money
- pay gas/electric bills
- go through diaries with DH
- Checked bank and credit card
- completed VO survey
Trying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings
MFW target 2012 to save £11,000 for Over Payments/fill ISA's and reduce lots of things - outgoings, alcohol, waste, weight0 -

Just having a minute with a coffee, thought it better be list time so I can just edit later. For motivation I'm keeping a track of everything I've achieved:- Usual daily jobs - washing up, baby bottles, beds made and upstairs tidy, downstairs tidy, hoover through downstairs, kitchen granite buffed.
- Running tally of alcohol free days 3/4 (to be 4/5 later hopefully)
- pay school trip money
- Cleaned ensuite and 1 bathroom/3 loos and sinks wiped over
- Tided my dump of a wardrobe
- sewing - school trousers hem
- pay gas/electric bills (thurs)
- go through diaries with DH
- NSD!!
- Checked bank and credit card - bank not looking bad:D
- Found 7p and put it in my sealed tin
- Running low on semi-skimmed milk for our drinks, DH won't drink DS whole so I've watered in down in the carton so I don't need to go shopping today (the things we do eh?!)
Really want to do at least one positive thing a day on the DFW front. Running out of ideas though! Will see what the day brings and if I can't find something.
Today will be a spend day as I'm in desperate need of some bras:o Sorry I know its not DFW but its not something I can manage without:rotfl:Was thinking of doing a food shop but reckon I can push it to tomorrow or if I wait till Friday, the money won't come out till Monday and I won't go overdrawn.
Might go out when the footballs on later as I'm so not bothered about it and bet everywhere will be quiet. Right, later agaters xx
ETA: D'oh! Completely forgot the budget. DH was looking at the online calculators last night and we will be about £35 per month worse off. So, that means less spending to be worked in somewhere but what can you do?? Reports are suggesting that because of the money being paid off the national debt the interest rates will be kept low for at least three years now. Thats worth us paying out an extra £35 as we are really benefitting from the low mortgage rate at the minute.Trying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings

Not gone shopping in the end, have hunted some old ones out that fit, will wait till payday now. Tonights dinner is batch cooked cottage pie, just need to do some mash for the top.
Updated lists above with DFW stuff (all penny stuff but every little helps!) xxTrying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings

Right, no more putting it off I need to do a food shop as need milk and fruit for the boys. Only going to get what we need for next few days and do a big shop after payday as I'm now skint. Taken some chicken out the freezer and discovered a long lost bottle of Aldi curry sauce in the cupboard so curry, rice and naan tonight. Just need to chuck some veggies in the sauce.
Budgetting has worked loads better but just run out of cash so need to try harder next month. Thinking of drawing out the cash for food as well as spends to try and make it work better. Going to do use Lidl and Home Baragins for the month and see how things go as I think I could make some big savings there. But I would normally be about £150/£200 overdrawn at the end of the month, cleared once DH's wages go in but this month it maybe £50. Not going to beat myself up about it, the moneys gone and its better than last month, I just need to try harder.

- washing pegged out/next load on
- Running tally of alcohol free days 4/5 as of yesterday
- sewing - school trousers hem
- pay gas/electric bills (thurs) - bit sort so transferred money from savings to cover as I will get a discount on paying by Friday which is better than the interest on my savings
- Food shop done at Lidl
- go through diaries with DH
- 'Found' a top yesterday complete with tags I brought 3 years ago, was too small then and still too small and unless I remove a rib its never fitting so listed on Ebay
- Found 20p on floor in car park, put in sealed tin
