Hi pennywise (fab user name BTW). Thanks for that, most days I don't feel like a fab mum but I suppose thats all about being a parent. But thank you. I'll check out Sains too:A xx
Just having a minute after having a mad dash of cleaning, hanging out washing, making bottles, tidying. Got to pop out and do a few jobs later - prescriptions need collecting for DH and DS, baby needs more milk, pop to the library, get DS ready to sleep out.
Dropped DS off at school, I'm sure his teacher must think I'm a right busy-body but I've offered to help with the trip to a local farm. I don't really want to go to interact with DS, I'm happy to let him go off but I'd just like to go and see how things are run and how he is with his friends and teachers. Sure she thinks I'm 'one of those mums' though:o. One of the mums collared me and wants to back her DH's governers application, bet she thinks I'm a busy-body too! Oh well, better than not caring.
DH and I are having a 'date night' tonight but staying home. DS has invited himself to sleep at Nannas so we are going to have chippy and watch the footie together. Baby will be asleep by 7 and is never any bother so we can chill a bit tonight (instead of running up and down stairs meeting the demands of DS).
Have been naughty again but I've bid on the most A-mazing chair on Ebay. Its on for 99p starting and they sell for £150+ when finished so if I can bag a bargain, that will be a little project to do up and maybe sell. Showed DH my new clothes and he says keep them. I'm wearing the jeans and one of the tops and actually feel quite good today - not the usual slummy mummy. Also bid on a dress but only up to £2 so sure I'll be outbid on that.Trying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings

HI SAHM, chippy tea sounds like a good idea:D, might do that myself tonight.
Good luck with the high chair, don't beat yourself up about the clothes you still need a treat now and again, I've been after a maxi dress, but any i have liked have been about£40 which i can't really justify at the moment, have seen a couple on ebay that are buy it nows for around £15, so if they are still there on Tuesday when i get child benefit i'm buying myself one.
I'm sure the teacher is greatful for the help, i work as a teaching assistant and know its appreciated when extra help is offered, its the mothers that come ranting and raving about ever little thing that we hide from:D.0 -
Your date night sounds like a fun night. We'll be relaxing and watching football tonight as well, although as tasty as it sounds, I'm being good and cooking beef burgers tonight as I took them out to thaw last night (in the fridge). I checked the Sainsburys site and didn't see the SMA on sale, such a shame, as we're a bit low. Will have to check Tesco and Morrisons.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Aw, date night sounds ace! So you have a rare other half who isn't running off out to watch the football with his mates then - lucky you! I got the offer of a bit of "quality time" inbetween coming down from putting baby to bed and him going out - which was 20 mins - ahem I think not!:rotfl:
I like what you said you did with the Argos furniture. It's given me more food for thought. We don't have much money to play with right now, next month there will be a bit more but ideas like yours mean more mileage for the money that's there *goes off thinking*Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Pennywise - oh, I love maxi dresses! Buy one! LOL! They don't really suit me though as I'm quite tall and they always seem to flap a bit short on me. I'm not a ranty-type mum (yet!) so maybe they don't think too bad of me then:o
Triggles/Jo - well date night was a bit of a wash out - DH just ended up screaming at the TV and I got bored:rotfl:But the thought was there:D
Not much to report really this weekend. Went into Sainsburys yesterday and picked up tons of really marked down meat and salmon so thats gone in the freezer. Got a couple of really cheap gifts out away (some Boots photo frames down from £8 to £1.33 so they will make good Christmas gifts with pics of the boys in) and something from ELC for baby.
I am really lusting after an iPhone:o but called into some of the phone shops in town and I can't justify spending so much on myself. Plus I don't have the money. DH was looking and I might get a Blackberry for almost the same I'm already paying at the minute.
Been feeling a bit down really to be honest. Just fed up of having to run around after our families all the time and so much being expected of us. Plus I've just tired to arrange a night out with one group of friends and just keep getting knock backs so feeling a fed up about that too:(. Hey ho.
Hopefully will have some more postive DFW news tomorrow.Trying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings

Blimey - who's expecting a lot of you - do you mean like family or friends (that's how I understood it?) You'd think they'd understand you were already slightly busy just with day-to-day life!Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Sounds like you've been pretty busy. Maybe you can schedule a few days a week where you keep a strict rule of "no outside chaos" in your life. No family chores - no friends/family running around - just do what you want and get done at home what you want or need to do... It's hard to say "no" to family, I know, but you have to make sure you're not overdoing it as well.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Morning. Feeling in a much more positive mood today. Have arranged the night out in the end and a playdate to see one of my best mates, hopefully will pull a coffee in with the other one as I love seeing them both and our kids play lovely together.
I just feel like our families always want us to go there or do something, think its really the whole Fathers Day thing that has annoyed me. I don't need someone to tell me that today is the day to appreicate my Dad, FIL or what a great daddy DH is. Plus my mother goes way over the top insisting that we go out for a meal and then it costs us a fortune and we are run ragged trying to keep the kids quiet and enterained. Plus shs is a bit obsessive with seeing DS and invites herself to stuff but I then I have major issues with my relationship with my mother anyway. Excellant idea Triggles to just say no - infact this weekend is free so we will do want we want and make no plans to see anyone.
Funny old morning. I got back from nursery run and cracked on doing some jobs like tidying the house, washing up, clothes pegged out, just started ironing when DS teacher rang to say he'd been sick. So rushed back there and he was so pale and feeling sorry for himself bless him. Just had half an hour snuggle on sofa and he's now playing with his toys and watching tv. Think I've already annoyed him by asking him if hes okay, cuddling him. He seems fine now and says he doesn't feel sick so will see how the day goes. He's already asking whats for lunch and saying he's hungry so think hes okay, feel a right meanie saying he can't eat anything just yet.
Taken some yellow stickered pasta sauce and salmon out tea tonight, I reckon it should cost about £2.60 to feed the three of us a good meal.
Want to make a big to do list so will pop back later - DS and puking premitting! xxTrying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings

Agree with Triggles - if it makes you feel better then 'block out' some days in your diary to concentrate on being at home. That way there's a bit of room to manoeuvre and you're not cutting out everyone and everything but know you have that time for you, the kids and DH. Also don't worry about saying no - I'd certainly mention when your mum invites you out for a meal that maybe things are a bit tight and could you maybe go somewhere else (suggest somewhere a bit more affordable but of course you don't necessarily have to phrase it like that:)) or on occasion if we take the kids out we try to go somewhere like maybe a pub with a supervised soft play or outdoor play area - I know that feeling of trying to rein the kids in when you just want to eat some food!Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Thanks Jo - ah the use of the magic word - no! Why on earth do I struggle to use it. Need to sit down with DH later and discuss diaries so will pencil so us time in too, not going somewhere as family but staying home and chilling time.
Both boys in bed. DS is fine, eaten lunch and we've been playing all morning so no idea what this mornings little upset was about. Will see how he is later, still can't go to school tomorrow as he won't have been sick free for 24 hours but suppose better safe than sorry with bugs and kids.
Been feeling really low in motivation this weekend so going back to keeping a track of everything I've achieved:- Usual daily jobs - washing up, baby bottles, beds made and upstairs tidy, downstairs tidy, hoover through downstairs, kitchen granite buffed.
- 2 loads washing ironed
- Jeans washed, pegged out and ironed
- Mopped kitchen
- Running tally of alcohol free days 3/3
- ebay summer clothes - at long last!
- sewing - swimming badge
- sewing - school trousers hem
- pay school trip money
- pay gas/electric bills
- NSD:D
- Letter recieved from Next about new catalogue coming, rung 0800 number and cancelled book - saving £3.75 (never order anything anyway as delivery guy creeps me out:o)
- Free nappy in post and £1 off voucher
- Checked bank and credit card from weekend spends:o
Starting to feel a bit jittery about tomorrows budget. I know what will be, will be but hopefully we will be okay from it. Had found another amazing job locally, only 6.5 hours a week so would fit prefect with the kids and really well paid, but they have sent everything through today and they want experience. Not really sure how I can get the experience though if no one will employ me. If I volunteer somewhere I need a CRB check first plus no ones taking volunteers on as everyone is trying to justify there budgets/spending as its all public sector:wall:
