I'm going to repeat myself for the last time... the Liberal Democrats have abandoned the policies I personally as a voter most care about, in order to get things past that I as a voter least care about, and so I as a voter, won't be voting for them again next election.

There. You can disagree with me, you can think these policies are great. I've already said some areas where I think the agreement is right, but on balance I can't vote for it.

I'm sure the majority of Lib Dem voters agree with you, since the Lib Dems have always been viewed as a left of centre party. I am a labour voter and there have been times over the last decade when I have felt uncomfortable that the Liberals have seemed left of the Labour party. Now the Lib Dems have suddenly lurched to the right.

It's not hard to understand why some Liberal "Democrat" (can we stop calling them that now since they are obviously not) voters are a tad pis!ed off.

No Chance, I took my soon in with suspected meningitis and we were not seen by a doctor for over 3 hours. Second opinion after 4 hours.

Unless it is something simple like a small cut or sprain the A&E experience is a very long one.

PS I broke my hand 6 years ago and that took over 5 hours in A&E.

I am sure it will improve under the Tories

Perhaps you would have been seen quicker if your son had actually had meningitis?

I took my son in with a broken arm - he was seen instantly. I broke my foot and I was seen instantly. Both events happened in the last 2 years.

Anyway, I have private health insurance for me and my family through work. (I have never used it)

Seen instantly by a triage nurse to artificially meet a NuLabour target? Another box ticked, another target met, follow it up with a pointless opinion survey about how you were treated, what ethnicity you are, it's a wonder there is any money left to actually treat the patients who do turn up in A&E.

No seen by a nurse, then through to x ray depart - then through to doctor. In fact, my son was passed up through 3 different Doctors because it was a horrible break and they thought he might need an op.

Maybe you shouldn't just recite what you read in the Mail?

As I said ring Bupa now. You might get a good rate before the rush.....

Oh and start saving for the school fees too. A good day school is only about £10k per year, per child.

Already have BUPA thanks but sometimes have to use NHS like we all do in case of emergencies. I'm not reciting what I have read in the papers but what actually happened in my local hospital, but I will leave you to your prejudices.

Somewhere in the middle... my most recent experience was that I was seen fairly quickly in A&E... but the hospital had to booger around for almost an entire day to get me a bed:D

On net, they did a good job, but if my GP had been half competant I would have been diagnosed properly a week earlier, and I probably wouldn't have needed to be treated in A&E at all.

Being seen by a nurse (who can sew a cut) is different from seeing a doctor.

The nurse confirmed a rash that could not be removed by pressure, along with temprature and lethargy. So had to go to a doctor for confirmation.

So yes he was seen within 30 mins but diagnosis took over 3 hours. I can't see how you could argue against that, and it is not exactly one ilness you want to wait around for.

You say seen, how long did it take to get seen by the doctor, x-rayed and treated?
Being seen by a nurse who could turn you round quickly if minor is very different to being seen if it is something they can't deal with IMHO

You are very lucky then.I was in A & E last year when one of my daughters friends got something in her eye at her party. We must have been there for 5 hours at least. She was seen when we first went in and then seen by someone else and then had to wait to have her eye flushed out.I have been in A & E several times over the last few years with my children and family and friends
and it has always been the same. The only time we got quick treatment was when my son fell off a climbing frame while we were out and an ambulance was called, because he arrived by ambulance and the bone was sticking out of his arm, he was taken straight through
