I agree, I hope all this works.0 -
why did you vote for them this time when clegg made it clear he was prepared to go into coalition with whichever side got more votes? it's not like there's never been a con/lib coalition before.
a vote lib dem is a vote of CONvenience. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

I am keen on PR, and am aware they have abandoned it for the Alternative Vote system, which is even less fair than the current system.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Um... you, given you post on them?:D
My point is that I doubt many Lib dem supporters voted yellow to get blue. I think the Lib Dems are finished in British politics.
life is a box of chocolates...some are bitter
what's wrong with keeping an open mind at least until the new government actually does anything??
the lib dems are doing this because it is better for the country than a minority govt in a time of crisis. isn't that what nick clegg wanted - he said plans for public spending cuts should be collaborative in the last debate? maybe clegg is a statesman that is prepared to look beyond sucking up to the beards and sandals crew for the good of the country...0 -
I'm actually quite optomistic about all this now. I think we'll see a strong Government that is more open than we're used to. I think Dave & Nick (yes, I think I know them well enough now) are the dynamic duo to 'sort it' ......0

bollox. they're doing it cos they've got a whiff of power. cleggs list of negotiations was topped off with 'roles' and 'me'. how magnanimous. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

you don't think this will just be a temporary measure, where both parties play the PR game to make Labour look even worse, before Mr Cameron (I don't know him that well sadly) calls an election after 6-12 months, in the hope that the Conservatives can gain a majority and the Lib Dems can garner more seats & support?
Maybe its just me being cynical, but I can't help but think that this is the agenda behind everything, truthfully neither Conservatives or Labour want proportional representation so the electoral reform promised will merely be a publicity stunt and a false promise by the Conservatives to get Mr Clegg & co. on-side long enough to get the first budget passed rather than voted down, and to get Mr Cameron in at Number 10 in the first place.
Notice the Conservatives have one of their own as Chancellor, rather than one of their new best buddies from the Lib Dems?GREENS M'SHIP OFFER NOW CLOSED SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME!Olympic Debt-free Challenge £2150/£11900 = 18.0%NOW INVESTIGATING AN ALTERNATIVE TO MY IVA - I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ONE ANY MORE!0 -

Another election by the end of year I think is more likely0 -

Or, alternatively, because they are another bunch of know-nothings and never-done-anythings who believe they have a God-given right to rule the rest of us.
I can find no reason for this naive belief that the Lib-Dems are any better than the rest of the thieves, liars, cheats, sneaks, megalomaniacs, mountebanks and rotters who usually pack the House of Commons.0
