A good word about Santander?

Whilst no bank is perfect, Santander are the worst bank in the UK. That does not mean they don't have many happy customers because they clearly do. However, the fact they have many happy customers does not change the fact they are the worst bank in the UK.0

I fixed that for you.0 -
I guess it depend on how you define good!
I opened an account over a year ago to take advantage of their 6% deal
Set up 2 DD's for Gas & Leccy
Operated account over the interweb
Salary paid in monthly
Transfered money out to other bank accounts
Moved money to their Online Save 5 account
Never had any problems but never had to call Customer services
Did save my bacon in Canada when my Nationwide card wouldnt work in ATM
However A&L debit card worked fine in the same ATM
So my experience has been positive0 -
By its nature this type of forum will attract moaners. That is the way people are.0

True, but again you are missing a key point. Santander's % of upset clients and ex clients is probably greater then any other major UK bank.0 -
£532 in goodwill payments for various upheld complaints can't be bad !!!0

So it's ok for 49% of a business's customers to dislike it, is it?
That way, more would be happy than unhappy, but it's still no way to run a business.0 -
ShAbbey is now Santander. It seems that we could only access the accounts on-line after receiving an SMS message with a code each time we wanted to look at them. We are miles from mobile coverage (on ANY network) - one reason we use the internet so a Santander account is less use than Gordon 'Bruin' or a chocolate teapot - in that order.0

Yes, FSA figures have proven that (fact) and BBC watchdogs has also had the exact same experience.PC_Gabriel_Kent wrote: »The key point is more are happy than unhappy. And that is a fact.
I actually agree with you, however, that's no consolation for those of us who have had problems.0
