    Hi all

I'm back from "the wedding takes over land" :smileyhea

It all went well, very well and very MSE thanks to the guys over on the weddings board. We came in over £700 under budget so I am very impressed. :D

DD2 (aged 13) was left with DS and DD1 (aged 25 & 23) while we were on honeymoon.

I was expecting a bit of a mess when we came back - however - the two older ones have redecorated the front room - it needed doing and I had bought the paint but ran out of time to do it

There were no pizza boxes to clear away - I'm not saying they didn't happen.. but I don't know.

Also, the bread maker and the slow cooker both needed washing, Mum asked was I cross, well officially I was, but secretly I was proud they had been used :D

Got recipes from honeymoon hotel too :D

Have only read the three posts on this page but will read the others shortly.

Very little OS here recently:D have been glued to TV, twitter and have been shamelessly calling in favours to find out what has really going on(mostly it worked!):rotfl:.

Made a nice pasta bake tonight with mushroom soup:o:o(you think I'm making sauce with all this going on?:rotfl:)red onion, courgette, mushrooms, Quorn chunks and Double Gloucester cheese(and pasta obviously) very tasty.

Other than that am on top of the washing and very little else.

Will make some bread tomorrow and the cakes for school need doing tomorrow. Need loads so thought I may make a banana bread; wheetabix cake, coffee and walnut sponge, a chocolate cake and perhaps a Manchester tart(but without the coconut-which is the devils own food)
Does that sound ok? I have been making list after list and am not happy with any of them. Don't know I would like there to e something for everyone. Any comments welcome.

    Morwenna congratulations.

Jward hope you feel tons better very soon. ((((hugs))))

Donny-Gal you are 100% correct. Am beyond happy. Was getting pretty worried about what was going on. I had a bad feeling about there being another election in October:eek::eek::eek:(drove Mark a bit mad to be honest

Ooh, a new PM, it's quite exciting really. Just watching BBC news and laughing at the helicopter view of Dave driving back to Downing Street and the cyclists are just flying past the car!

Anyway, evening all, hope you have all had a good day. Mine was ok, work as usual, walked home, got the washing in, baked two banana loaves and a vegetable pie for tea, ate said tea, and now having a rest!

Had to light the fire tonight as it is freezing here in Bonnie Scotland. Talking of which I hope you treat yourself to something good Stroppy, it sounds like you have been a good friend to your DMIL and this is her way of saying thanks.

Congratulations Morwenna, hope you have a happy time together.

Take care all, hope those not feeling so good feel better soon.

I am lost, I gibbered so much that night, I'm not sure what you mean Eeyore! Glad to see you back, I thought you might be away in a post election bubble somewhere!

Had a lovely time at MIL's neice and nephew are gorgeous, and SIL had bought neice the most gorgeous almost flowergirl / party dress at TK Maxx today for 16 quid, it is stunning and much nicer than those Princess dress up outfits, she really enjoyed twirlig it for me! Nephew has stopped speaking English at all, and is jabbering away in Fench. Vey funny. I avoided all dog talk because I am so pleased to see them all. Dinner was free, so very OS!

    Stroppy, you're on - I love Millport!

Rosy Red The reason you don't have many slugs is because they are all over here in my garden and house!!!
StroppyJock I think your bench idea is lovely. Enjoy your money in the spirit it was gifted to you. She sounds like a lovely lady.

Jet77:eek::eek: ear stuff is so painful. I hope things improve very quickly.

    Tru :T:T :Twow.

    Welcome niccatw.

Am SOOOOO delighted that we won't be haing an election in October-have been really worried about that.

    We live in interesting times.

Anyway, think I'd better make tracks to bed(although I don't know if I will sleep:))

Have a great evening and sleep well.

Will post tomorrow(after I have done something round here and those bl00dy cakes!)

EDIT: JackieG it was the fantastic Mullberry bush Eeyore post!

Bitsy I am not being a tease honestly. I still have friends in high positions in the party(we had 3 MPS at our wedding(-well one MP, one former MP and one who is now an MP IFYSWIM and various other people from the party ) and I have kept in touch with them and their families. Interesting.

    Hello everybody,

Been a lovely sunny day here with an odd shower....and temperature of around 12c....am never up early enough any more to know about frost!

Lawns cut today, they look much better, flowers are strange this year, have still got some daffodils and tulips in flower.....accompanied by bluebells and wallflowers. Seem to have lost all my lovely big daisies which I am amazed at, thought that they would have been very hardy....maybe the weeds are just hiding them!

Dinner to-day was roast lamb with roast and baked potatoes, turnips and onions, made a pineapple cake with a fresh pineapple that was going past its best...made it with spelt flour as DD3 was here and allegedly she is allowed to eat it although she is meant to have a gluten free diet. DS3 was here also, his OH will not eat lamb so I invited him as they never have it at home....was nice to be cooking for more than 2, still not used to it.

Stroppyjock....from your last post it appears that you have decided to keep the money, which the absolutely correct thing to do....people are so strange when someone dies, my late uncle for some reason felt that my father should leave him money when he died, and several cousins seemed to think the same....why I never knew, my father made his will as he wished and that was good enough for me.

Am sick of the visiting lover, who is whining outside the window and banging on it every so often.....Kerry is now looking out at him and I almost feel guilty for not letting her out!

Got rid of some newspapers to recycling bin earlier, they breed, I'm sure of it. Keep meaning to do some of the clever things other people do with newspapers but never get round to it.

Diva, glad that you are improving.

Ladygrim, PenPin, Cranky...thinking of you all.

Niccatw...welcome....come and meet some of us on July 6th....see west coast meet up thread.

    Sleep tight all

    It will work.Honest.

It was more who said what and what was going on. Nothing sensational(well I was riveted but as we all now know I am a geek)

As I said in my edit. I still know a lot of people in the party(and also know where the skeletons are buried so to speak :D:D:D:D)
(What goes on at conference stays at confrence-doesn't it?:rotfl:)

    Have a great evening.
