:hello: Hello every-one, I am bravely leaving the DFW board for the first time today! I have been putting off sorting out a meal plan and shopping list because the thought of it terrifies me and I don't know where to begin
.
I've written up a list of everything I currently have in my cupbaords/freezer fridge and have just read the sticky on your board... and now I know even less where to start as there's so many things I want to check out :rotfl:
So thought I'd just pop on here and introduce myself! Then I'll probably go and make a cuppa and see if I can procrastinate further.
Stroppyjock - your last post nearly made me cry! I don't think you should let the guilt of others affect what you want to do as it sounds to me like, however you use it, it would automatically be something that your MIL would have loved and enjoyed or known was important to you and GF. (PS love your user-name)

Hello Everyone,
Welcome niccatw, neighbour! Stroppyjock, that sounds like a good plan, when you die and leave me all your money, I will buy myself a pair of binoculars in your memory! No arguments, now!
Glad to see everyone today, life is good, I am glad to be finished work. That one wee bottle of cider wiped me out last ight, I was soo tired! I slept til 7.45am, which is unheard of on a schoolday! Boys' bedclothes got washe this morning, we are off to B and Q shortly for my bark that I want before OH goes away, as I need his big muscles to lift it. Also going to MIL's house to visit the Swiss contingent, although poor Coco will be left here on her todd!
Have a good evening all.
Hugs to all who need.

I'll look after her Jackie
. Mum and Dad's oldest dog recently went to chase bunny rabbits in the sky so we're all feeling a bit lost - especially his wee brother Digger. They are getting a new pup but she can't leave her mummy until the end of the month (we have bets on how Digger will cope with a puppy given he's 10. But that's why they got a girl. He likes girls better, he's always grumpy with other dogs).

Thanks niccatw and welcome to the thread.
Jackieglasgow, better idea, I will leave you my bino's and scope that I have already and with the money treat yourself to an exotic trip to say ...... eh...... Millport!! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Sorry to rub it in but I've been out for an hour in the sunshine in short sleeves this afternoon. And it's still sunny now
Cut the lawn which was desperate for it (first cut this year) and edged it, did a bit of emergency weeding although I need to do some more perhaps the weekend.
Anyway have now eaten 3 weetabix browniesand am glued to the BBC news website for updates on our wonderful policitians wrangling for power (been kicked off BBC News on TV by the kids wanting to watch TV - really how very dare they
). Personally I think we should call it a day and have another vote
Niccatw - welcome to the thread
Stroppyjock - your MIL sounds like she was a good lady to have around. I am sorry she's no longer with you both x Out of curiosity what are the secret recipes she left you? <nosey icon>

She was a typical Scottish Country Lady, not posh country tho, land working country, but so interesting to be with. I moved away from my local town years ago and she was always the one that brought me up to speed on what had happened in the intervening years.. Sadly it was like her son's were ashamed of her, and when the MND meant she couldn't babysit anymore then she was sort of side lined. As they would say "she was a couthie tuechtar"
The main coup was her recipe for Scottish dumpling yummmmmm plus a bran loaf and marshmallow rocky road thingy!! She also bought me the Be-ro cook book, well more of a brochure (cost £1.50!) but is an absolute mine of info. I've just bought a copy for my daughter to take to uni, has all the basic sauces, cake, batter recipes, highly recommended.0 -
Stroppy - I'll have to pm you as I have a feeling your MIL would have been from my mum's neck of the woods if she was a couthie teuchter - am v intrigued:). Also, my granny had the Bero cookbook and it was passed down - lost somewhere along the way.
Welcome niccatw:hello:
Had a ready meal for tea! Was going to have a slice of pizza but burnt it:eek:. Serves me right for NOT doing OS today.
have a good evening folks - ah edited to add......but if, like me, you are unhappy about the news now that Gordon Brown has resigned and Tories/Lib Dem in, then you might join me in drowning my sorrows

Evening All
A little late, but here nevertheless. Diva, Pen-Pin, Jayward, Ladygrim :grouphug: thinking of you all.
Stroppy don't you dare considering giving your MIL's money away, she wanted YOU to have it, people know when others care, and when they pretend. Re the Bero cookbook, my staple too, I have 3 - the old brown one about 4" wide by 7" high, the later Blue one same shape, and a newer one with colour piccies. Even have one in the house in Spain.
Been and had a blood test today to see if the kidney function has improved. Called to see DNeice in law and DGNephew, had a coffee and played with him. Picked up list of what we need for DS's MOT on Friday. DH has removed the 3 remaining doors and we have sent them for stripping back to hardwood. Ordered new radiators for lounge. Used up left over burgers, sausage & bacon with jacket potatoes and beans for tea. Must get dirty washing out of the 'van tomorrow and tackle that. Spoke to Jayward on msn, she is not at all good health wise atm.
Sure Anniestar is glued to the set finding out what is happening. Personally pleased with the likelyhood of the con/libdem alliance. The others lost, and I was disappointed with the outrageous claims of what the smaller national parties wanted for their support, it sounded like blackmail.
