Yes, would love to see more comps and have the choice of whether i enter or not
Thanks Ikkle - had a phone call today to say I've won second prize which is a Billabong Rucksack and Cap. Then had another call about an hour later to say I've won third prize - a T-Shirt and Cap. Bit concerned about the last bit though - "No mobile phone number may win more than once".

:T:T:T brill, well done feefee :T:T

I agree with seanymph, people should have the right to choose whether to enter & post these comps.

I think it's really quite condescending that we're not able to choose ourselves. It's like being treated as a child so to speak.

I can say this from an objective view as I NEVER enter £2 competitions myself but I believe others should have the option should they want it.

I don't see how posting it will make any difference to what it is now. If people don't enter the £1.50 competitions because it's too high then why would they be tempted to enter the £2 ones??

There's many threads all throughout MSE that have bargains etc which go well over the £2 limit, for example You can get a CD in Tesco for only £4, why is this any different?? A lot of us win amazing things from here without putting much into it.
The thing about postal, text and phone competitions is that it WILL require a spend, so it should be treated completely separate from the main board. For those that enter postals there's stamps, postcards (in most cases) and the general stationary. The people who contribute to this thread spend £100's a year on magazines, I know I do.
So, why should £2 texts be banned? It's not a huge amount and there aren't that many of them. It does, in all honesty, seem silly to me :o

It's the way things are moving, £2 texts for a much bigger prize, and if less people enter because of the price then it means you have a greater chance of winning than on a 25p text IYSWIM.

Hope I haven't stepped out of the line by saying this, but I think it had to be said, it's how I feel xx

I don't think it should be moved to discussions as this is treated quite separately & people will be putting their views on there who don't even contribute or use this thread. I think it should stay in here to be resolved, IMHO xx
    :) xx JoJo xx :)

No, £1.50 cost is high enough

As about 12 people have now said they would change their vote - can we have a second poll? Which would give people the chance to vote now that discussion has been had?

I don't buy any papers or magazines really, and rely on here only (even on here i don't have time to enter everything I want!) - but would like the opportunity to enter higher value text competitions. In fact, they are the only ones I enter. I enter for nothing less than a car via text, otherwise I stick to postal and online.

Surely this entire forum is about giving people opportunity, and teaching them to take the right decisions for them - rather than not allowing people the opportunity because they are on a money site because they are useless with money - what a silly argument. This entire site, from where I'm standing, is about empowering people with enough information that they make informed judgements, and that they then have sufficient financial control to make the best judgements for them.

Not allowing people to view a competition because it costs £2.00 instead of £1.50 doesn't fit with the ethos at all to me (I voted that we should have the £2 texts posted - and I don't want to change my vote).

I was surprised at how many people voted 'no' and wanted to deprive others of information - sharing information is the entire basis here - I thought it was small minded and autocratic, and I'm sure that if so many are now openly saying they would like to retract their vote I think others are bound to be feeling it and not posting that.

    And, change is always difficult.

So, given that people are openly saying that they hadn't really thought it through and considered all sides - and that the poll was posted prior to the debate - can we repost a 'take two' poll? Is that possible?

    Well said that man :T
