So if the £2 text comp is declined by the powers that be, then posting details in a magazine that costs over £2 should also cease. Innit?

hi matryoshka :) imho, the powers that be would decline even if the poll had been going the other way, ikkle explained it in a good way..

"I think the way the magazines issue is got around is for example. Magazine is £2 but has 8 competitions in then it works out 25p per comp. Its how I always interpreted it anyhow lol. "

    :D:D

but if it's only 1 comp for £2.00 then no :rotfl:

hope i'm not upsetting anyone by saying this but i still think the £1.50 limit is bloomin daft  :D

Sorry to be a pain :o but do you have the answer as well as C at all? It's just when I use the telephone to enter comps I normally say, for example, 'C - africa' as opposed to just 'C' IYSWIM?

    Thanks for posting chick xx

Hi - I have just entered this comp and they don't let you say the answer you have to just press buttons on your telephone keypad within 4 seconds - so C is not one of the options anyway. The question was to do with a sporting figure (can't remember his name). Anyway the answer was option 3 (I assumed this as C. would be the third answer - think it was snooker). This was correct and I was able to go through to the next question.

    Good Luck.

You can enter all of these (and have just been called to say you can enter in all flavours)
All are daily entry, free texts.
    Thanks for your help purplecatlover

    http://www.walkerscompetitions.co.uk/fcboots.html

To enter simply text BOOTS plus your flavour keyword nomination (e.g. ENGLAND) to 51199, Text votes will be free of charge (only one entry per person, per flavour, per day will be counted) thanks to the sponsorship of mobile phone voting by the O2 Wireless network. By voting by text, you consent to receiving a marketing message by return from Walkers and O2.

Send the keyword for the Flavour you wish to vote for to 51199 between 25th May 2010 and 2nd July 2010.
Valid Flavour keywords for voting by SMS are “GERMANY”, “BRAZIL”, “FRANCE”, “USA”, “HOLLAND”, “JAPAN”, “ARGENTINA” or “ENGLAND”.

There will be 1 draw held on 9th July 2010 and the first 39 entries drawn will be the winners

Sorry if I should have posted these all together just realised there's more still....but they all have different prizes and close dates so didn't know what was best. xx
Although T&C's state draw on 9th July, I've had a call to say I won with ENGLAND... 1000 Boots Advantage Points... English Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pud flavour, I bought some but never realised that entering other teams were country related flavours as I only wanted to enter with 'England' ...if you have entered with any other country you must know what flavour you bought as you are asked...I did have other flavours but have thrown the packets away sorry ....will post this on IWIWIW in case it helps others should they get a call...

As about 12 people have now said they would change their vote - can we have a second poll? Which would give people the chance to vote now that discussion has been had?

I don't buy any papers or magazines really, and rely on here only (even on here i don't have time to enter everything I want!) - but would like the opportunity to enter higher value text competitions. In fact, they are the only ones I enter. I enter for nothing less than a car via text, otherwise I stick to postal and online.

Surely this entire forum is about giving people opportunity, and teaching them to take the right decisions for them - rather than not allowing people the opportunity because they are on a money site because they are useless with money - what a silly argument. This entire site, from where I'm standing, is about empowering people with enough information that they make informed judgements, and that they then have sufficient financial control to make the best judgements for them.

Not allowing people to view a competition because it costs £2.00 instead of £1.50 doesn't fit with the ethos at all to me (I voted that we should have the £2 texts posted - and I don't want to change my vote).

I was surprised at how many people voted 'no' and wanted to deprive others of information - sharing information is the entire basis here - I thought it was small minded and autocratic, and I'm sure that if so many are now openly saying they would like to retract their vote I think others are bound to be feeling it and not posting that.

    And, change is always difficult.

So, given that people are openly saying that they hadn't really thought it through and considered all sides - and that the poll was posted prior to the debate - can we repost a 'take two' poll? Is that possible?

Thanks Ikkle - had a phone call today to say I've won second prize which is a Billabong Rucksack and Cap. Then had another call about an hour later to say I've won third prize - a T-Shirt and Cap. Bit concerned about the last bit though - "No mobile phone number may win more than once".
