Oops sorry, genuine mistake on my part.

On the repeat buying - people do repeat buy Avon. Personally I love the "planet spa" range but always wait until stuff is half price or 3 of £5.

No probs & I agree with the repeat buying.

There always seems to be offers, if you like a particular product wait & get a better deal.
Saves money & makes sense :money:

I wonder if people do buy products at full price or wait for offers because whenever i have in the way distant past when i bought Avon items i would always kick myself because the next brochure would have an offer on them. I ended up only ever buying offers or reduced items for that reason. ;)

I do Kleeneze part time round my full time job - nearly been doing it a year and if it wasn't for the lovely customers I have found and needing the money, I would jack it in. A hell of a lot of work for very little reward and the catalogues seem to change every 2 months, you have to buy them in order to keep up with all the other distributors in your area and the £7.50 really is a con. As is the delivery fee! When you order from Kiddicare.com, the online nursery store, they ship with Interlink Parcels and it is now free delivery when you place an order over £30. Kleeneze also use Interlink and yet I get charged £12.50 for an order under £100, then £6 for an order up to £250 (after which time shipping is free, as someone has mentioned in a previous post). I don't understand how they can justify all these fees! As for the team building, I started doing that but I get no money from my team until we make a combined profit of 10%, so we're all out there working our socks off and for what? £50 if I'm lucky, and that's if noone returns the goods, then you lose the commission that you've more than likely already spent!! Con-eze, my better half calls it!!

I have to agree with everything you have said and I also agree with your better half's comment, my husband retired and decided to try Kleeneze I wasn't particularly taken with the idea but he said he'd give it ago.
It seems to me a lot of hard work tramping the streets in all weathers, for very little return and then of course you get stuck in a vicious circle, in order to recoup your money you need catalogs so you have to buy the things and so it goes on.
Personally I just wish he'd give it up and cut his, or mine as I'm the one with a full time job that's paying for the catalogs, losses.
He does make a small amount but no where near what they say you can, and I know you say you do it and hold down a full time job and I don't want to sound horrid or rude but with all that's involved I cant see how you can do it your going to make yourself poorly and I'd like to say all credit to you for doing it.

I've been doing an Avon round for a year now and most of my customers are savvy and seem to wait until prices are low. I do the same because I can see brochures in advance, and customers who see every book have noticed the changes in prices (maybe not keeping a spreadsheet like I do :o ) and simply wait until a good offer comes along and stock up. Hence lots of heavy orders to deliver when the bubble bath's on offer.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Blimey just read the Kleeneze Xmas Catalogue is coming out in early August.£36 for 200 catalogues another expense for hard pushed distributors. Whole thing smacks of desperation.

Blimey thats way too early!! when we did Kleeneze we were always told that the year was preparing our customer base ready for the Xmas book and i have to say Xmas orders were pretty good but tbh i would rather have regular repeat orders of consumables all through the year.

So by the time Oct/Nov come around prospective customers will be sick to death of them.
  • It's a bleedin joke. Xmas cat out in the summer, folk order - guess what? Out of stock!

On back order - guess what? - still out of stock for Xmas! Result? Unhappy customer, let down, doesn't order again..

Then comes January with the BIG NEW YEAR SALE. Usual bl00dy crap that's been out of stock all year offered for a fraction of the original price. Means you have to get MASSIVELY more orders to make the same amount in commission. Most of wht the customers order is out of stock, natch, so you make bu66er all for a lot of work and hassle.

We used to stop working the cats at beginning of december until around february cos with all the above factored in we didn't make any money and worked a lot of hours for the privilege. Same from July to september, holiday time, no one buying. So, 6 months of the year, not worth putting the books out. Packed it in after 21/2 years, made sod all and actually lost money replacing lost catalogues/advertising/petrol/phone - just doing what you're told to do to be 'a success'.

you'd be better off getting a paper round or part time cleaning job.

Anyone tempted with the promise of 'money from day one' , DON'T DO IT!
