    Hello :)
Cabuchon jewellery were in the Xmas catalogues so I'm wondering if they are being kept as seasonal?
When I was party planning in the past most people bought but some guests didn't and that was ok. I'm not the pushy kind of person - my aim in party planning is always for people to enjoy the evening and not to feel pressured - personally I hate pushy type characters. Obviously I hope to get sales - that's where I earn my money.
The idea of party plan is to book parties from parties where you will see some new faces as well as some familiar ones from previous parties - as your parties progress you meet more new people and so it grows. I can't tell you how it's going to pan out but obviously I hope it does well :) I will be doing one a week alongside my retail - one a week will be enough for me at the moment tbh and I won't be doing them for a couple of months yet.

As to cabouchon they pushed and pushed it all the time - the endless dreary messages about this or that couple earning XXX when frankly much of the stuff was little better than in argos and more expensive. I once took up and offer of cabouchon books at one of the conferences and by mistake they sent me extra, to be frank even my most loyal customers who bought shed loads of stuff didn't order. I only ever sold a little bit and some of that went back because they didn't like it.

Well at some point Kleenze binned it all , putting what little stock they had in the back of the H&B then in the Xmas book. What I want to know is that if it was so good - given the endless yabber about it why did they bin it?

As to party plan - I thought it was £ 136 for the kit , given you only a month back were saying you had damp down the walls and were broke do you think you should be shelling out like that? Up to you of course but the thing that gets me about the parties is just who is expected to attend all these? for you on foot how will that work? you must have the MOST understanding friends and neighbours given you've done other things MLM like !!!!!!!!, they must go **aye aye here we go jenny wants us at a party *again* **.

I'm with the others on the parties - just who is going to go and don't they just buy out of embarrassment , I know my wife has.

What we should be asking is how long before Kleeneze quietly pull it.
  • Oh I forgot - yesterday a Betterware catalogue came. A new lady with a small child in tow, she had been given our little area of houses. The problem is this area is useless for kleeneze or betterware, the latter never the same person twice as they can't make anything. I remember speaking to a betterware lady who I used to see on my Kleeneze round and she said they had offered her that area of houses but she knew how bad it was. Her area was OK ( it was OK for Kleeneze too) but round by here it was utter rubbish.

So I expect I won't see her again till the next one turns up, which is a shame.

Again I'll say it - we'll see how it goes :) I don't know for certain if it will work. Personally I love party plan - it has worked well for me in the past, even if I have swapped and changed about :) For me I see it as an addition to the income I am earning from my cataloging. The kit is £99 for those who attended the conference and I earned the money for it. I think there may be an offer on for people who join in the month of January. Most party plan companies have an offer on for people starting so that their kit is heavily subsidised - this is not unusual. I am not shelling out yet however - I am waiting until I am ready for it. My friends love seeing what new things I have to show them and they are completely upfront with me if they are not fussed on something I show them and tell me what their favourite products are with the ones they like.
I have 7 years of experience with party plan - taxi service to local parties arranged was my solution. I always earned enough to cover my taxi fare and had enough profit left to make the evening worth my while. I would love to drive and I will earn the money to do so but not being able to drive hasn't stopped me yet :)

Its been suggested elsewhere that Kleenze sell very cheap stuff at vastly inflated prices, and It needs to be that expensive to cover all the cuts taken out by the layers and layers of uplines all the way to the top.
Whats your take on that folks. Is that a major factor in falling sales do you think ?

    Totally agree with this :T

Betterware works within boundaries & yes some demographic areas are better selling than others :(

Still........in the bigger picture of this thread......& without knowing which part of the UK you are in.......she wont be ripped off....sold a dream........ charged a penny for everything she needs to try & earn some extra cash will she!!! :money:

Shame & hope she sticks @ it as better areas may become available :)

The thing is with this is you'll need for instance - £10 Taxi fare , there fore you'll need at least £100 of sales to make just £11 on the night and thats without any other costs. Like Cabouchon I really can't see people buying that much Kleeneze stuff at a kleeneze party. Especially if they are endlessly the same people , if they are already your customers then eventually they'll dry up as they all do in the end.

The problem with these parties is that of the stuff was really unique and cheap they'd be fine , but they aren't either. Some of the stuff is woefully cheap and pathetic and to be frank embarrassing to try and sell. I really don't think there is a big enough market for this frankly, I suspect that given a few months and kleeneze will bin this as they do their other bright ideas that seem to forget people want cheap but they want quality which neither seem to be coming from kleeneze at the moment.

It's all mostly cheap stuff that you can find in bargain shops and end of aisles in big supermarkets. None of the stuff is unique , at most it;s re labelled as own brand but it;s available in the original branding for a fraction of the cost. Many of the nick nacks of of such poor quality they fail very quickly so people are unwilling to buy again. A few duff items - like the cheap pathetic floor cleaner ( like a small euebank) were so utterly bad that at £15.99 they were the ultimate rip off as they were available in the bargain shop for £4.99. People fall for it once - they never order again.

The reason an item is £15.99 is because of the endless layers of uplines to reward. Endless percentages going right up to the big boys that get flash cars like Bentleys. If I got 21% before any volume bonus , then the upline form me got some then his then the one above you can see that it needs to be triple or more the actual cost.

On top of that there are the cost to the actual company - real profit, the cost of the workers, Michael Khatkar etc, all coming out of that one item. When the stuff is £3 it's very hard to see how they make anything - which is the problem , they don't make enough.

Of course folk pop up and say they don't have the staff and shops other companies have - but that irrelevant, the staff do a days work of value to the company , at Kleeneze all the distributors are self employed. That 79% of any cost has to cover everything. This all worked years ago when stuff was cheap and they had the market , now it;s expensive and the stuff is cheaper elsewhere.

No but will she have been told *you may spend all this time putting out 200 books and get few orders* I doubt it. Thats why they always have spare areas , they are the ones they can't get anyone to trudge round for the pennies they might make. She'll have to be very ruthless to stick with it making nothing for the work just to be in place if something better comes along - which won't happen as the best areas round here are sewn up already by the looks of it.

Given a good Betterware area then it's a no brainer , no cost no nothing but getting those areas is the thing.

I've looked through the book , nothing is of any use , anything I did want out of it I can get cheaper in the town.
  • Well of course they would say that wouldn't they? Just like all the other great ideas they have at Kleeneze HQ then are quietly dropped. They did all this with Cabouchon look what happened there.

As I said , who is actually going to buy ? how many people are dying to go to a glorified tupperware party nowadays? They make the money selling the party plan , any single sale that comes of it is still profit for them the only loser will be the person mugged into signing up for it.

Cabouchon was very poor indeed, they used to send the jewellery in pathetic envelopes rather than in a box. I ordered a necklace and it came in a tatty folded jewellery envelope. I didn't know what to do and I couldn't with any heart take it round like that, I mentioned it to a relative who by chance had a plastic box from a recent purchase with no name on the lid. I did complain but they didn't want to know.

They used to sell a Cabouchon party plan pack but soon discontinued it.
