• Hi John,
When I knew them well they tended to work 6 days, sometimes 7.

Holidays are a good point - I don't know what they take but on the basis that they have no team to earn volume bonuses on then obviously if they took 2 weeks off out of a 4 week period then the income for that period would drop significantly. Just as an example if 'typical' retail sales figures for a period outside the Christmas periods was, say, £6000 (which is just going into the 21% bonus level) this would earn them an income (before expenses) of £2049. If the retail sales were half of this, £3000, due to taking half the period off, then the income would be £913 (before expenses) - quite a significant drop.
Something else to consider is - in the week before taking time off I used to scale back the catalogues otherwise if I worked right up until the day before a holiday putting catalogues out, they would be sitting in the customers homes for a week or two - more time for them to lose them and cost me more to replace. Then the first week back I wouldn't have any catalogues out ready to collect so if you take a 2 week holiday, if you did it my way, you would have more than a reduction in orders for the 2 weeks. You would have less orders than normal on the weeks either side of the holidays too, so just as an exercise using the above figures, instead of reduced retail sales in that period being £3000 it might well drop even further to £2000 which would provide an income of only £584 (before expenses).
The 'training' I received told me to leave the catalogues with the customers but be very clear when you would collect again so that you had orders to collect upon your return, but in practice I found that it didn't work like that for me. Yes there were some catalogues put out on the correct date, but that first collection required lots of knocking on doors as people had forgotten the date to put them out and others binned them because they thought I wasn't coming back. All in all a lot more work that day for a few orders and an increase in my expenses replacing lost catalogues.

Sorry I didn't answer your most important questions! I don't even have a cat!

Spot on Alan no blue cat :rotfl:

When your only way of earning money is through the catalogues then when you take holiday or if you are god forbid too ill to work then you simplyt have no income coming in

Dangerous ground in my eyes & I think this once again highlights a risk element that maybe or more probably wouldn't be a question that anyone coming into the Kleeneze business would ask or think to ask

Shame you dont have a cat Alan, IMO their very nice creatures :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, you're right, a retail only business is dangerous ground and MLM was never designed for this; it was designed to be a group of people all doing a small amount of retailing.

Of course, non-Kleeneze businesses can have exactly the same problems. If you're a one-man/woman business you will probably not be earning anything when you're not actually working (holidays, sickness etc).

After many years of falling distributor numbers at Kleeneze, evidence from the start of the calendar year indicates that our new recruitment initiatives, including our "Break Free" programme, have successfully resulted in an underlying increase in the number of ordering distributors. At the end of September, the number of active ordering distributors had increased by 15% compared to the previous year. However, the difficult economic environment facing Kleeneze’s customers has, as anticipated, led to lower average order values per distributor resulting in sales of £26.3m being below the prior year in the first half (2010/11 restated: £29.0m) and operating profit of £1.4m, down from £1.9m a year earlier. Encouragingly, the cumulative effects of increasing ordering distributors and new sales initiatives after the period end, including the launch of new products, appear to have had a positive effect. Trading since period end (8 weeks to 25 November) is only 2.5% behind prior year. Various cost saving initiatives have already been targeted for the second half of the year.

"Try making real money in Kleeneze without a team xxxxx. We were told to build a customer base and tell our story based on the facts and our own experience. The story is yes we have some nice customers, we have met some really nice people an...d the products are excellent but it is extremely difficult to make progreess and even break even. This is possibly because like Amway uplines (who also were DSA members) build up hopes and give people unrealistic expectations. No one said at the outset that leads need to be purchased. We were told 3 foot rule people and bobs your uncle people will join in. My xxxxx is out delivering to customers at this very moment but the harsh fact is that Kleeneze, DSA and its leaders need to take a look at the attrition and retention rates. When I say this I am on your side xxxxx but the dvd is certainly not representative of our experience."

I wonder how long this will stay on the person's wall. Wouldn't be surprised if it vanished pretty sharpish. Can't be having a truthful account from an existing distributor scaring off any potential new recruits.

Unusually it,s still there but judging by the senior distributor,s response whose page it is and his kronies response,s clearly they "Dont like it up em "
