Labour have pulled out of talks with the Lib-Dems.
BREAKING NEWS Number 10 recognises that talks with the Lib Dems have not and will reach not any positive conclusion, and they are now discussing the method of declaring that their side of the negotiation is over, BBC Radio 5 Live's political correspondent Jon Pienaar says.
Also reports of bags being removed from No.10 - looks like he's on the way out.0 -

I thought the normal way was along the lines of "Your Majesty, I regret that I am unable to form a government so must, therefore, proffer my resignation as your Prime Minister. I recommend xxxxxx for your consideration as you next Priime Minister."
However, I guess the way they'll do it is "Waaa waa, they won't let us have our ball back so we're going to cry to anybody who'll listen, whilst blaming everybody else. Even the head of our beloved Leader wasn't enough so ya boo sucks to you all."

As for Con/Libsays talks between the Lib Dems and the Tories are now at the final "dotting the Is and crossing the Ts" stage. To use the metaphor of poker, Labour have folded and thrown in their cards.0

What happens if somewhere down the line the LibDems decide to support Labour (vote of no confidence), do the Tories have to resign and hold an election or could Labour move into power without an election.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. the last forced minority was Major (due to local elections). That ended in an election.
Cameron would be PM so Labour could not take power without an election I believe.0
