Greenbee - I will try to keep in touch, I'm working 40 hour weeks in Frankfurt (bit of a shock after what I do now at uni... about 12?) so won't have huge amounts of time, but I will definitely drop in, and will happily meet up with anyone who is around :D

Now come on, I'm going to do half an hour study (learning the phonetic alphabet bleurgh) and then I'm going to come back on here and see what you've done! You're lucky Toots isnt online today or there would be mules flying in your direction! I'm too attached to my shoes to start flinging them at you :p

Carol, I love the phonetic alphabet! If you want me to test you I will, I love that I know it! I've also got a friend who deliberately uses really weird words when spelling things out on the phone, things with silent first letters and really long unusual words - apparently call center girls get really shirty about it, or giggly! Words like M for Montmorency, P for Phone and along those sort of lines!

Rosepink thank you, you talk a lot of sense, my friend.

Re counselling and other "talking" therapies, I've been through the whole lot over the years, and have actually found they make me worse; probably because I find people in general absolutely terrifying. LOL I saw a notice for some sort of self-help group for people with social phobia at the doctor's one time, and I had to laugh - if I was able to attend something like that, I wouldn't need to, iyswim.:D

You're right about low self-esteem and past events, though.:(

I'm sure it's just reaction to a) a rotten flare and b) the shock of seeing this particular couple split (thought if anyone was OK in their marriage, it was them).:o

Oh and ovens...... ours is built-in, so no cleaning behind it. If it wasn't, I think I'd probably get Mr LW to move it at least once year, probably, same as we do with the fridge-freezer.

Right, I'm off back to the Wii (just having a break cos I needed one).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I'm taking it apart and hopefully putting it back together again... Just remember that a 40 hour week is a nice gentle introduction to real life :D you'll be so tired you'll wonder whether you'll ever not be tired again, but it passes. (and then you can gradually build up to a proper 60-70 hour working week)
You never asked ............... actually, wasn't it you that I adopted some time ago
You're right ... it was... hex recently refused to adopt me unless I went to bed at 7.30 pm every day. I think I'll stick with you and my new sister Monkey :p

Baaaaaaahhh Greenbee you've scared me... Maybe I'll become an academic, and then I can just keep the uni lifestyle forever (now I need a good chin-stroking smilie!) Although I think Boyf would complain if I never earn any money...

Rosey - thanks for the offer hun, very much appreciated, but it's all in french :( I knew it last year for a different module, and promptly forgot it all again because I didn't realise I'd need it this year. Most of it is coming back, I'll get there :)

LW - a group for social phobia... that one made me splutter my coffee! Like when I see posters at uni with 'Learn beginners english, classes 2pm in the so-and-so building' or whatever - if people can understand the sign, why do they need beginner's english??

Right I was just popping in to check up on Greenbee :p so back to phonetic nasals (oh the joys) xxx

Oh - you guys are great! I came on here ready to proclaim my inadequacy having done nothing on my list and was met by lots of people feeling down and lots of people who cared!

I had a lovely time with my friend today and then had to see DH in order to take Maddie the Mad Springer Spaniel to the vets (anti-biotic/pro-biotic and worming tablets = £62!). Went for a drink with DH after and had good chat/bad chat/good chat and was about to go to bed so that I could feel sorry for myself and hopefully snooze...

Having caught up on here I've decided to get a deck-chair out and go and sit in the sunshine in the garden and read my book and then maybe/maybe-not get on with my list.

You're all so lovely - and I loved what someone wrote about deserving to have a nice, tidy home with a clean toilet etc. That is how I'm feeling now!

Maybe see you later with a few tasks crossed off of my list!

DH and I are out for dinner with friends. There's a new bistro opened up in the next village, and we haven't been able to get a table until now :j We're planning on walking there, so I need to look for something to wear with flatties :p

HHC 17:00 - 17:30 then long soak in the bath to get out the ingraned compost, and possibly the first drinkie of the evening

    Good, I'd rather have a kitten :p

PP - joining you at 5, and probably with the drink too.
