Right I have decluttered the manky nail polish from my fingers, had some lunch, booked a hotel in Frankfurt for the first few nights, read through my contract for my job, and made a shopping list for tomorrow. Going to finish off bits and bobs from my list after a catch-up and a cup of coffee.

LW - give yourself some wolfie hugs sweetie, and follow Greenbee's advice to kick that BD out! NOT into the kennel, but out out to go and learn how to be a nice doggy! I agree with HelenJelly - you talk good sense here and you are part of our (highly disfunctional, very large, but very loving) family.

Newlywed - Sorry to hear about all of the things you've been going through this year. I'm glad you are finding that Flylady helps, and I hope you have some more relaxed times coming up. Don't stress about the job interviews, if you get the job then you will be FABULOUS at it, if not then something even better must be just around the corner!

Determined - you are doing so well for your first week! Remember babysteps is the key, don't worry about keeping up with the thread, just concentrate on how good having a clean and tidy home makes you feel!

Macpep - I think we all have attacks of the CBA sometimes (apart from Pen-Pen, but she has some sort of magical powers I think :p). Can you have a bit of time to relax tonight, maybe have a bath or some time reading a book or watching a film you love? Hope next week is easier for you, and you enjoy the candle party.

    Right, who else needs a pep-talk? ;)

    ooh organisation thwarts 'jobsworths'

last year my Tax Credits came through and they had me down as using registered childcare (I don't) for which the cost was £0.00 (it is cos I don't pay it *rolleyes*) and I THOUGHT I had told them...

got the file out - have jotted down on the notice that I rung them up, reported my salary AND told them about the childcare all at the same time - just scribbled on the notice but there it was...with the date I did it!

I am writing this year - and am about to scribble on THIS year's notice that they have been told (again) and I shall save a copy of the letter, too. JIC

Mind you IF you do contact them ALWAYS note down date of call and if possible who you spoke to and what was said...saved my bacon before, has that habit!

Carol thank you for your kind words; and indeed to everyone who's offered me encouragement. I love the virtual pet site!:o

Kezlou don't be downhearted; I think all learner drivers have a "nightmare" lesson at some point - next time will be better.:o

  • Huge Hugs to all struggling with the BD today - seems to be a lot of it about - but spring is coming slowly and sunshine always helps - hang in there folks...

I've just been reading the tax proposals for 2011 onwards and they make me shudder - but it'll be a brilliant focuser of minds on debt clearing this year, or we'll be sunk...so focus for next few days here will be

    1. Finish sorting bits for NCT sale this weekend
    2. Start getting Ebay bits together
    3. Take the bloomin photos for said Ebay bits...
    4. List!
    5. Cost fence panels needed.
    6. Rework finances - can we shave anything a bit more?
    7. Flying fun, en famille preferably, well a girl can hope...

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

But I do :( I even get that BD following me from time to time, and remember that I took nearly 2 weeks away from MSE just recently. I wasn't all smiley and fun then :( I find that sunshine on the retina and exercise helps when I'm down, for what it's worth :)

I need one... haven't written a WORD yet, and this b****y document needs to be done before I can get on with real life... (I still have a presentation to write, a taxi to book for Tuesday to get me to the airport, and the travel team to harrass about the fact that BA have cancelled my last flight on Thursday and I DO NOT want to be stranded at the airport in Rome in the middle of the night).

Keep in touch when you're off abroad... if I'm in the right place when I'm travelling then maybe we can meet up

so do I. But no running till sunday :( as I've done something silly to my legs so they've had massage and now need rest...

Now I'm upset... why won't any of you adopt me???:p

I think what's got to me is Mr LW's pal and his wife splitting up - pal says he hadn't realised just how unhappy he'd become; now I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, and Mr LW to realise he doesn't want to be a disabled person's carer for the rest of his days. Except here it'd be me that'd have to move out, because Mr LW already had the bungalow when we got together, and I moved in with him.

On an intellectual level I know I'm being silly, but I've always had a tendency to see the worst-case scenario.:(

No good seeing GP; I'm on the highest dose of the last-ditch anti-d's I can have as it is - already been told there's nothing more they can do for my anxiety and depression.

Oh gods, somebody, preferably a fellow BD owner, please give me a good kick.:(
This is blunt, but as you asked for a kick...
Right, first of all, your first point about Mr LW is rubbish. I'm sure he will tell you that himself if you ask him. He's married to you, the woman he loves, he doesn't see you as "the disabled person." Your disability is a small part of who you are, and just like all his annoying habits and idiosyncrasies (I'm sure he's got some) that you have to live with, he has to live with your disability, and does so willingly because he loves you.

Second, seeing the worst case scenario is something most women do. Unfortunately, because of depression you are more likely to believe that it will happen. BUT: remember, depression likes to fool your brain into thinking everything is terrible and always will be. That is not true, it is a trick.
Lastly, have you ever had any of these: anxiety management courses, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy? If not, why not ask your GP to refer you to the services that provide them? Medication is good option for many people, but it doesn't treat the root causes behind depression - anxiety and low self esteem, or past events that affect our view of ourselves. If meds are not helping, then talking therapies should be looked into really.
I hope you don't feel I've been too blunt, but when I'm low and feeling like a useless piece of rubbish I need people to tell me I'm not in the strongest possible terms

Well, I've finally finished behind the cooker. I've never seen so much grease in all my life. The floor still needs hoovering but I'm worn out now. I've dustpan and brushed the worst of it, and not put the cooker back properly so that DH can see the results of my hard work! (and possibly take pity on me and hoover!) It looks amazing now compared to when I started, I feel so proud of myself! I feel like I should have a star just for doing that!
How often do all of you clean behind your cookers? It's not been done for 2 and a half years, that's too long right?
