In that case, you're definitely better off with a couple of Onyas. You wouldn't believe the amount that can be fitted into them and I've had mine for about six years and it's hasn't split or broken."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I watched the Tesco shopping bag feature last night - on about a dozen TVs in my local Tesco store!0

I couldn't lift them, actually I do the majority of my shopping online but when I go for any top ups mid week I have to spread what I buy over two small bags because of my back problems.
I don't really understand your objection. If you can lift two Tesco plastic bags, you can lift two Onyas."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

I do have a cotton tote kind of bag that I take with me when I go to the local co-op planned, it has a long handle on and I can carry it on my shoulder which helps, but if I'm out and about and haven't got it with me then I use and will continue to use plastic carrier bags, which I recycle when I get home.
I want those bags to be fit for purpose though and strong enough to get my shopping home.0 -
if they are about the same size as a tesco carrier bag then yes I could, but most reusable bags are much bigger than carrier bag size, so I would need only half fill them which would mean I have to carry 2 with me, and that's pretty bulky (at least all the reusable bags I've seen are fairly bulky)

I got a bag similar to this:

It folds down neatly but if I have bought heavy things it is better than jute OR plastic bags. And it doesn't look like the old-fashioned shopping trolley my gran used to use!0 -
Thats brilliant, I've never seen anything like that, what a fantastic idea, that would be brilliant for on the bus.0
