Good morning and well done on the super organisation there!
That's a nice profit on gumtree as well and fingers crossed for the shows/festivals, hand delivering always gets you noticed :j
I hope you are feeling more positive now and can see the light at the end of the tunnel, even if it's a bit distant at the moment

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and well done for facing up to your debts.
I know how you feel about benefits as it is against my nature to claim them but i always remind myself that i pay my tax and NI as a working mother and if i dont claim back what i am entitled to then my tax is just going to someone else who can be bothered to ask for it!Credit Card debt £10247.17 1/1/20200 -
Hello everybody, i hope you are doing all great with your debt management...
Here is my report for today
Went to CAB this morning- there is nothing I can claim…Well I can claim tax credit which I already supposed to receive £42. But I have to give this back to tax man because apparently they paid me to much in 2004 and 2005…And seriously there is nothing I can claim except Disability Allowance for my son, it is not means tested and anyone can apply. Learnt that there are 3 different bands, the pay level is depending on the band. The lowest pay is £18 per week but it automatically tops up to £40 because if you receive this, the tax credit automatically increase…I am calling the benefits office tomorrow to get the application form.
I also asked about the schemed that helps you with gas& electricity payments if you are behind them, Cab lady will call me and give me more info about that tomorrow.
It was a busy day at work so I was not able to make any of the phone calls, hopefully Thursday now because tomorrow is too busy…
I also have additional appointment to look into my finances that will be next Tuesday at 10 am…
And in between I picked up some car boot items from a kind recycler so here come weekend – I am doing car boot!
I have an appointment with HSBC on Friday at 4 pm in order to discuss payment issues.
All I want to do is sleep now, it is just too hot….
Hugs to you all xxxDon't forget smiling

Afternoon, well the visit to CAB sounds like it was worth it just for the info on the DLA, every little will help!
Hot? What do you mean hot? It's not been that hot where I was today and actually I froze my buttocks off in Asda earlier *Brrrrr*
Good progress today, keep it up

Hi, just thought I would pop in and say hello.
You are making progress already which is great to see, but it seems to me that you need to cut down on the none essentials more. I understand that your son comes first and has certain needs that must be met. However, there must be other non essentials you can cut down on or cut out altogether, because every penny helps towards paying debt.
Good luck with the car boot sale and let us all know how you get on.The £2 Coin Savers Club 2010 No. 105 - £8 totalPAD commencing 28th April 2010: £431.42 total:ADreaming of being debt free!:A0 -
Very busy at work...Just managed to have my lunch break, having a vegetable soup and typing away...
So far I could only call to ask about Disability Benefit Allowance. The number is 0800 882200. The very nice sounding lady said the pack should be with me within 10 days.
We had a little panic yesterday as my son disappeared from school- Police involved etc…I thought I was going to die. I am not kidding, the thought of f him being harmed etc gives me cold sweats. Luckily it turned out he was actually in his lesson well wrong lesson but he was still at school. You wouldn’t believe the relief, I could not stop crying after he was found, and my nerves cannot take it sometimes. Joy of motherhood.
Hello hello JTR2803, CAB is good advice- I might be able to get one off help towards my unpaid bills- this is a bit embarrassing but I might not get it anyway...We will see if there is a way. The lady I talked to yesterday called me today , she is still checking. I have to be ready to next weeks debt review with them; I am dreading to be honest. Ah it is not as hot as yesterday here- actually it is a lot better. I truely love English weather, not too hot , not too cold.MMM actually I love England, it is a beautiful country.
Hi Savingforfortune- yes I am making progress but haven't got around cutting non essentials yet. I will though...Actually I cancelled my mobile yesterday which was £35 per month. Instead I went for Pay as you go option. I hardly use my mobile anyway. I kept my number and bought £10 credit which will last 30 days and gives me 100 minutes and unlimited text. This is a trial for me to see if I will be able to cope, I think I will...
Must go, work is waiting, speak to you all soon

I just booked my cat for his booster injection for this year. Made couple of phone calls and used Thompsons directory too so I was able to book 50 nectar points for each call. 4 Calls 200 additional points...Brill x
The good news is I managed to get the cost down £18 so instead off £60 odd , I am going to pay £41.87, and Worming and Strong hold will be £54.95 instead off £70. This is for the whole year:D
I am well chuffed , I made a progress today, thank you jtr2803 for telling me ''Try a different vets for the cat, it wont hurt to make a call or two and find out.'':beer:Don't forget smiling

Try the peeps on the live on 4k a year thread hidden away here they have some fab spreadsheets for every conceivable budgetting outcome and then some.
Hi moo2moo, I don't know if you will see this message or not but I am please to say I am not doing so badly on being frugal- I received a microwave from kind recycler but on top off that I realised more can be done although I will not put myself for this challange just yet...
Even before I looked at the link that you kindly sent, I was already doing following
* I buy my bread but only buy every other Monday evenning because my local Tesco reduces the bread every monday evenning/ this is even cheeper then baking and with bulk buy I freeze the bread...
* I always use Freegle and Freecycle when possible
* I live in a flat but I grow my own herbs such as corriender, basil, tyme etc... on a windowseal. I also invested in a small plastic duda (don't know what is it called but it is like a small green house with plastic covers on it ) there I have some spring onions and reddish
, they are growing so nicely that makes me happy, and spending time doing gardenning _ without the garden _ is so therapeutic
* I use £ or 99p shops for claning stuff including toilet paper etc...But not for laundry, I find difficult to cut on softener and decent washing powder but I only buy these when there is BOGOF
* I use vouchers where possible with my shopping ...But never Tesco or Nectar points , they are allocated to nicer stuff where I get 4 times of the value
* I started doing my shoping by bulk (for whole months shopping in one go) except milk and fruit and salad stuff. I buy fresh veg at the begginning of the month but use frozen ones afterwards. I can give up on my fresh salad / tomotoes etc ... though
* I cook almost everday, never buy ready meals. If I am making soup, I always make a bit more and freze it.
*Most days I take my lunch to work
* I do take my son to cinema but I never pay full price which is about £9.60 ish per person- instead I get vauchers from work they are £5 each, this is also why I don't do Orange Wednesdays because my way is not more expensive and also use the vauchers anytime we like, not restricted to wednesdays...
* If I am taking my son to Alton Towers etc, I never pay for full tickets because there is always buy one get free deals on offer
This is as much as I can think right now but I am quite frugal, well without even noticing...
But how come I am in so much dept????:mad:Don't forget smiling

I am so glad that your son was safe! I am a nightmare and wont let my daughter go on rides, even at well respected theme parks, my throat gets all tight and I start sweating . The swap to PAYG is an excellent move and is an easy way to increase your surplus by £25!Want_to_be_free wrote: »I just booked my cat for his booster injection for this year. Will keep popping in to see how well the stuff from your garage is selling
oh so sorry I did not reply to you before, to many things on the go and I am trying very hard at the moment so sometimes I am forgetting things:cool:
LOL My mum does not live abroad I do :rotfl:
I was married to an English man who agreed to stayed with me in my country first then changed his mind after getting married... In attempt to save the marriage I moved to UK. Unfortunately our marriage collapsed after learning that he had an affair when I was in US and had a baby...So I left him but at the time I had our baby too...In order to have a life, and future for me and my son -I started working full time when my son was 6 months old. I was thinking that I would go back to my country but I didn't know when..Along the line I made friends , enjoyed my work, my son got into routine , which is very important for ASD children, and fell in love with English Countryside... Although I am a foreigner, I think of mysef British, some cases more Brit then many... But off course my accent will give me away, or in this case maybe my grammer and spelling
:D
So when I go to visit my parents, it gets vey tiring because all my relatives want a piece of me. I have to visit them all:o Not complaning though, it is lovely to see everyone but sometimes I come home from my parents and i feel like I really need a holiday:rotfl:
I will let you know with car boot , although not so sure where to go just yetDon't forget smiling
