  • I think you still get the side bar when searching on that link??

Nope, no sidebar, in fact nothing, completely blank screen other than the search box.

The way it searches for results has changed, most casual users won't notice..... But those of us who search for things that aren't quite so popular (or search using keywords as opposed to sentences) will find it quite different.

Sometimes you don't want a search engine that thinks for you. Sometimes you want the raw results, no matter how apparently superfluous they may be.

    - just beat their results ( paid for spam ) to death with parenthesis before and after your keyword

    - that way you not only get what you want - but - you exclude everything else they want to push at you !

That's the normal Google UK home page - as soon as you search for anything you'll get the sidebar.

Can you give an example of searches that give different results? Would be interesting to see the difference.

I didn't think most people on the tech forum used google, what with the amount of questions asked that could be answered with a search on google.

    That's right.
They ask questions and somebody else googles an answer.
