The sidebar has some fantastic features, like the wonder wheel, which helps hone in on the right search term if you're unsure of exactly what you're looking for.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Hopw has it lost functionality.
Just ignore what is in the side panel and you've still got hte search results you had before.
I'm really struggling to understand why people are so bothered about this. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I can't understand why people are complaining either, the sidebar barely takes up any space and gives quicker access to the advanced search features so whilst still being user friendly and minimal there's extra functionality. I certainly prefer it and think it's an improvement - just get used to it.0

You're fuming with Google for changing the layout of THEIR website! Here's an idea, why not start up your own search engine and you can make it look however you want it to!0 -
If you use this link as your home page then the old Google will appear. Found this on another forum so not my idea.

Nice tip, although I'd still recommend getting used to the new layout as the old option might get taken away at some point. Also, if you search using the search box in your browser it will still show the sidebar.
Once people have used it a few times I'm sure they won't know what they were bothered about!0 -

- this one is the better one [ British search with English language ] , make it your default only if like me you want ' nowt ' but the search routine.
I hate all, yes all adverts, logo's pics etc !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. The way it searches for results has changed, most casual users won't notice..... But those of us who search for things that aren't quite so popular (or search using keywords as opposed to sentences) will find it quite different.
Sometimes you don't want a search engine that thinks for you. Sometimes you want the raw results, no matter how apparently superfluous they may be.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
