I don't understand the difference between findings and conclusions. I'm meant to write 3 pages at least of conclusions. :(

Buffy if you weren't you and you didn't care about your mother, nothing she said or did would hurt you or affect you. You do care about her but you are going to have to learn to 'deal' with your mother the best way you can for both of you.

Maybe it is you who has negative thoughts about yourself and when your mum says something you take it the wrong way. I know that I do the same thing with my OH - I take what he says as criticism cos I want everything to be perfect.

I don't think I am explaining myself very well, but I think I mean you need to strike a balance between making yourself happy and looking after your mum.

    Hi peeps by the way..xx

No you are explaining yourself vvery well- well, I think I get what you mean, I am very down on myself and do want to please Mum, i am hurt tonight because she hasn't even been look at the (bloody stupid) garden and I have filled up ten bags of rubbish. And I do want everything to be perfect.

And the reality is she is NOT going to change and I need to find ways to be ok with myself and not still look for her approval. I managed it when Dad was alive cos he was always happy what ever I did (unless we where arguing about politics oh and he would probably like me to be married!) whereas Mum always has looked for the problems and the not finished bits.

But I feel terrible now cos she is falling alseep opposite me - why is she tired? cos she still insists on cooking a full roast.

    and welcome to the guilt!
    Nevertheless she persisted.

findings are what you found out ie the results of your research . Conclusions are what you now think about your results/findings

    ie

    Intro

This essay is about DFW chat

    Research

I read it each day, I contributed, I compared it to other daily chat boards on MSE

    Findings

Everyone is great, a bit mad and there will always be someone to talk to

    Conclusions

I will continue to use DFW chat, I think others would find it just as useful

I hope so Bunny. I have to have a findings section in my dissertation and a conclusions section. I don't understand the difference between the two. I write sentences then can't work out where they go :(

    Thanks BB,

    so is this a conclusion:

One of the aims of this research was to consider whether a newly forming organisation would have differences to the findings of existing research. Comparing the definition of Huczcynski & Buchanan (2001) and Aust (2004) with the findings section above, illustrates the lack of detail provided by respondents into the values, beliefs, meanings and norms, and their difficulty in identifying them. Aust’s reference to norms can be set in the context of K and P’s feedback that the organisation is still norming. It is difficult to gather meaningful information on norms where the norms are still being established. Turning to Schein’s model of culture, the cultural artefacts are referred to as traditions, rituals and stories. All these words imply a time element – for example for stories to be known they must be told and remembered beyond the time in which they occurred. It is self evident, on reflection, that in a newer organisation people would not have spent the time together to generate a shared understanding or observation of these things. The element of story telling is missing in a new organisation, and without this there is not the evidence base from which the culture can be observed.

    and is this a finding?
The responses of K provide some support to the critical view of culture as organically evolving (Brewis 2007), however as K describes creating his team in his own image, as their manager, his description assumes that he has the managerialist prerogative to define and impose a culture, fitting more with McDonald and Gandz (1992) stating leaders are primarily responsible for determining the values and the way they are manifest. K does not appear to have considered the culture of his team emerging up to him as opposed to down from him, nor that the majority of his team is people who are not him.

1.What do you mean by your "responsibilities"? Be specific...

2.Have you brought anyone back? That'll be a fun day...

3.How much do you compromise? How much does she compromise?

    1. make sure the house is in full running order and she can afford the bills and to go to Florida.

    2. No never. house rule, if I want to do that sort of thing I have to move out!

    3. Yep I do compromise. She doesn't really. well. I guess she does over stuff like dinner and the fact my stuff gets left everywhere when I am marking. but the pay off for me is cheaper living? is it worth it? It was there for a while, but I am not as sad as I was and I am also not so in debt...... will be sub 8 grand next month. could be out of debt in 6 months? 7 months maybe..

and just me make me feel even worse! she has now gone and looked, she thought I had done it very well.

    hmmmm.

    xxxx
