Our neighbour feeds the cats and chickens. Our old dog went into kennels when younger , however late in his life he slept on a sofa or in our bedroom and would have missed his creature comforts, so we either our lovely neighbours came in and out to him and walked him or we arranged a housesitter.

If the pets next door to you are confined for a week without a carer coming in I would report this to the rspca .

    Good luck

I couldn't imagine going on holiday without my dog. I'd miss him so much I wouldn't enjoy the holiday. Good job I prefer to holiday in the UK then!

    .

We are the same, however we are trying a holiday in Spain this year by getting the car ferry to Santander and driving down to Southern Spain. Brittany ferries have just got a new ship which has a few dog cabins where you can have your dog with you in the cabin.

When i work away - 3 times a year for 3/4 days he stays with a friend who also has a dog, i could leave with hubby but he can sometimes work long hrs so i dont trust him!:rotfl:

weekends etc he goes to dads, when i'm ill/tired dad will take him for a night & take him for a long walk :) its fab dad doesnt want the responsibility of another dog so mine goes to stay with granny & grandad :)

i wouldnt leave him alone for more than a few hrs, imagine the mess!

My furry terrorists go to a luxury heated and air conditioned cattery where they are pampered and fussed over as if they belonged to the owner, The costs come in at £10 per day for 2 cats, which I think is reasonable.

I dont think thats too bad at all, I'd say that for a good cattery thats a pretty amazing price tbh

Op, I hope the cats and dogs were ok? Take it the owners are / due back now?
