what to you do with your pets when you go on holiday

Apart from the fact that if they get sick or injured there's no one to help them.
Yep, I could not imagine leaving Moo alone for any length of time. I have a cat sitter (a friend, I pay her by stocking up the fridge with goodies!) who I know Moo is comfortable with.
My mum used to stay with Moo whilst I was away, but she admitted to going home every night 'because she was cold' (in July?!?!?!). Needless to say I have not asked her to help out since!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Our dog goes on holiday as well. He goes to stay with my parents

We only got our cats last year so when we go to Butlins in a couple of weeks, it will be the first time we have left them. My boyfriend's brother is going to move in for the week so they will be well looked after and I won't have to worry too much!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0

My parents leave our cat/s at home for up two weeks by themselves. They have a cat flap and next door feeds them everyday I just don't agree with indoor cats. We've done this for15years or so and never had a problem. The old one were happy to see us return but never bothered by the week, the current one is semi feral and probably prefers us not be there.
Dogs are complete and different story though. At push 48hours with some one to feed but only in a emergency would be my feeling but we've never had dogs.0 -

We have a really good kennels nearby, our last dog used to love it there, the lady that owns it is really kind to the dogs in her care, so I have no worries about leaving our latest dog with her too. The rescue we got her from also said they can do foster care if we need them too, so it looks like we are spoiled for choice!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Dave goes to my parents place if I'm going away. When I move a bit further away then he'll stay at home and I'll get a friend to come and feed him
Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
Do you know if someone is going in to feed them and let the dog out for toilet? I really hope someone is feeding them.DFD February 2012

I used to put my cats in a cattery but now a friend of mine lodges with me so the cats and fish are sorted. Before he'd stay whilst I was away and look after them as he had a bit of a complicated home life and needed a break.
Cats have a cat flap but spend most of the day on the beds sleeping so are very easy to look after!
I don't worry about them when i go away now!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

mum pops in to feed our cat and give her a brief fuss when we are away. she has a cat flap and is free to come & go as she pleases. we never go away though for more than a weekend break at a time, and despite what people think of cats being so independent, she always looks kinda pleased when we return!0
