Old Style Daily Thread; Friday 7 May

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning! I've been up sice 2am, but did sleep between 10:30 and 2:00
I've been up watching the election, have a slug as a new MP  and drunk copious amounts of tea
Theer was a moment of excitement when MSE Martin joined us and we fed him cake :j
I'm planning getting some more sleep later
Old Style wise - I have loads growning in my polytunnel, so need to get out and water that. I made bread rolls yesterday, but have yet to master traditional bread loaves by hand
so will be having a go at thriftlady's recipe
I'd like to do more on my quilt - handcrafts are really feeling the squeeze on my time atm
Happy Birthday somo1 :bdaycake:
Hope you're all well :A

We've all got matchsticks in our eyes, and have been harrassing (well, I have) Penny to post the Daily as she's the only one who's had any sleep.
I wil be out most of the day, and may pop back if the adrenalin keeps me going long enough.
Hugs to all in need, Diva, PenPin, all the other sick or worried.
Have a lovely day everyone, whatever the final result, life as we know it will be changing.

Morning everyone, haven't been to bed yet as I too have been watching the election result on t.v. I have no idea what has been keeping me awake, although I am starting to feel sleepy now. I think I will go to bed when DH goes to work at 6am, put the t.v. on in the bedroom and just fall asleep..lol
OS wise errrr I have got loads of rocket/mustard leaves/chard and lettuce leaves growing, enough to keep us in salads for ages. Plus I chopped up some rhubarb, that I aquired from my friends garden, and froze that too. I also wiped down the kitchen

Morning peeps
well i have been asleep but not to bed
I fell asleep on the sofa in front of the telly and i`m still here.
I`m on my second cuppa trying to come round and then need to dive into the middle of things as the kitchen guy will be here soon.
We went to vote quite late last night and the polling station was extremely busy which really surprised me. I thought that there would be hardly anyone around but we were queuing
Anyhoo - short and sweet today as i need to make sure that everything is out of the way so off into the kitchen i go.
Stressedoutmumof1 - Happy Birthday :bdaycake:

Hi to all you OS'ers, sorry to barge in on your daily thread but I need to pick your brains please - am planning on making Twinks Hobnobs today, but need to know if I can use oats so simple original as the porridge oats? Sorry to be so daft but not sure if they are the same thing? I also have a box of supermarket own make ready oats?
Thanks in anticipation

Morning All
:j:beer:Many Happy Returns SOMO1:beer::j
Enjoyed the course yesterday but was in a very small hot room and lots of things to think about so when I went up to bed last night fell asleep straight away - no watching the election for me. Was excited when I woke up then saw the news and found it very disappointing, oh well we will see.
Today have put the bins out and checked the banks. House is a mess, it seems that if I am out for one day then it all goes to pot  not much will be done today as have a nice day planned - off to the hairdressers for a bit of pampering
Will be having a very busy wekkend methinks.
Off to now to make lunches - have a great day.x0
