An accident at that speed will have at least left seat belt marks on both of them and therefore the driver would easily have been identified.
What have the Police said about all this? I would go back and tell them your concerns and let them deal with the ex friend and bf.0 -

You could go to small claims.
My friends brother brought her to my house after she/he crashed my car, the police took her out to there police car to question her/breathalyse her etc & I straight away turned round to her bro & said she's a good driver so tell me the truth was she driving (she's not the sort to go above 28mph in a 30 zone) & he said no it was her b/f, so when police brought her back into my house & spoke to me in my kitchen I told them she wasn't driving, they basically said if she wants to take wrap for it then so be it, I was honestly stunned, so I mentioned fingerprints on stering wheel etc & they asked why, there's no other vehicles involved so who cares is what the pretty much said (& I told them her b/f was banned as I'd just found out), they did go round to her b/f's mums house but he wasn't there & we've not heard a word from police since!
I'm guessing its too much paperwork?0 -

Quite frankly your 'friend' has let you down in a big way. Has she said anything about recompensing you for the loss you have incurred? My first instinct would be to contact the police & report everything you know about the situation. Whilst I don't think that will get you any financial recompense, I think your friend's boyfriend should take responsibility for what happened.
Unfortunately, I think you'll probably have to put this one down to experience.
I've told the police all I now on the night.
The friend I've known for 22yrs is not tha friend I thought she was unfortunately.
You'd think he'd be a man & not let his g/f take he wrap for him though eh?0 -

I told them my concerns on the night & my friend ended up in hosp overnight with whiplash & concussion, airbags did go off but no blood etc, police just dont seem to care?
As for the car, I went to see it & I was stunned, all tyre's blown, both wing mirrors gone, all windows smashed, even them things you pull down to stop sun going in your eyes were in back of car, boot won't shut, 2 doors on left won't open, car is shaped like a pyramid, I can't believe they walked away from it.0 -
i'm sorry this has happened to you, but i would never lend my car without checking her insurance. i was very surprised when you said at first it was fully comp on her policy to drive your car.
i think that you are also stuffed for the cost of storage and this will keep going up.
we are all a bit naive at times and you have learned the hard way not to be so trusting'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -

So your 'friend' has !!!!!!ed off into the sunset with her dead beat boyfriend and left you to it?
I would get yourself into a solicitor and see what can be done. I would ask to have the car checked for prints to see who was driving it, and ask who is liable for storage costs.
I would definitely be making life as painful as possible for your friend and her boyfriend.0 -
As I understand it,as you let your friend drive your uninsured car,you can be prosecuted for it.Take legal advice before you act or risk dumping yourself in it.0
