Skint - maybe you could see if someone else local to you would want to share a table and so halve the cost.
Personally i only went to one wedding fair before my wedding and couldn't wait to get out of there - that might just be me/that particular fair. There were hardly any customers there and so we were pounced on and had everything rammed down our throats. I just left after about 10mins. Not saying that that's a reason to not go for it - i imagine each one is very different and people must make money from them else they wouldn't keep them going. Just my experience of it. Nixi's idea of a charity cake is very good, i like that idea.Just £10,852.28p to go...

Good evening everyone else. It's nice and sunny here so we've been to the beach with the dog - it feels like autumn's here though, the temperature's dropped right down.
Had a shock today - got home from work and the student was already in the house! He'd climbed up a pole onto the garage roof and through his bedroom window which he'd left pushed shut but still open. OH was fuming (quietly) but the student was proud of himself, bless him - i don't think he understands that's not normal. He does some really peculiar things - like this morning he was peering out from the letter box. Maybe he was planning then how to get into the house. Bizarre.
Anyway this is a lot of useless dribble! Hope everyone's ok xxxJust £10,852.28p to go...

Evening all
Saucy – oh honey absolutely massive hugs, I have never had a pet but spending the weekend with my mates adorable cat makes me understand how hard it is. Pets are so gorgeous, and it is in some ways like having a child in terms of their innocence and mischief.
Just so sorry, I know that the poor puppy has not been in the greatest shape. But, as horrible as what you are going through is I am so happy that the puppy is in such kind and loving hands. I know it is hard but try and enjoy your time together as much as possible although it is so difficult at the same time.
Mambury – It wouldn’t let me see the video boo – removed by EMI the bar stewards!
Nixi – that is absolutely fantastic well done on all the entries.
Em – so glad to hear about you wedding fair experience. I have been to about two this year was not massively impressed with either one was just too big and bustling, the other same thing pounced upon. Given me some food for thought.
just on the train back on 1st class... free wine going to get off my face on the way back. And I promise I have not forgotten my money saving ways it is just that there was £5 difference on tickets and I realised it made no sense not to use the option of free wifi and free food.
Considering that it is £4.90 for an hour of internet access on virgin trains. So, Richard Branson – thanks for making me a wino! (and a savvy shopper)
Manchester was great went to appy feet http://appyfeet.co.uk/ and had my grusome feet nibbled by these fish... very weird and tickly but can tick that off my list of things to do before I leave this mortal coil.
The friend I stayed with wants to help promote my invitation service, and might have a little side job for me to do linked to events. So apart from catching up with a great friend, it might be brilliant business wisetoo. Love Manchester, great city and great people it was so nice to get out of my London bubble. So I am very happy and very motivated : )

Hello everyone
Dilli I just looked at the fishy feet website. oooohh not sure I could have put my feet in and kept them there but very "interesting" concept.lol.
Nixi you are doing brilliantly with the blog hun :T:T
Em. Was this the french student? That must have been a shock. funny about peeking through the letterbox. how bizarre.
been getting fence posts etc to make a bigger run for the ducks. quite excited but a bit daunted.
Dh is enjoying getting handy (:D) this summer. He has repaired duckhouse and run. built a gate from a partial kit and made a birdhouse from some of the leftover wood. Now comes the big project duck enclosure. I'm good at the planning and directing lol.

Skint it may be worth just going to checkout the fair this year to get a feel for what its like. Farmers market sounds great though as you do a whole range of cakes and not just wedding ones. Not really sure about the wedding fair either way so maybe more experienced people could advise better.

Hi guys, still catching up and getting to know you all, however, Skint, I kinda agree with some of the others about wedding fairs. When I got married (6yrs ago) I didn't even visit one (although we got married in Jersey so for most things it was a bit pointless) Might be an off the ball idea, but the lady who made our cake in Jersey got in contact with the florist who supplied her with the same flowers as my bouquets (she also supplied the hotel flowers too). I know it's a small island but have you perhaps thought about how/if you could team up with local business' such as independant florists who would be willing to support you, if things take off then you could do a mutal promoting scheme - kinda, they scratch your back and you scratch theirs. So many local business' are finding times tough now that many are far more open to such ideas.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
