joey i had a really busy week was the problem i've had a bebo and facebook account for the last 2.5 years and hardly used them, think hubby was quite concerned when i took up the challenge sure he thought i was on an internet dating site lol .but i liked the whole challenge thing ,the variety of people and the village feel it had to it . i just dont have the time to do them all .i did express my concern about the other site being closed doors but like you it was nice that now and again a new member would join in chances are it would have been quiet over the summer anyway . hope you have a good day and thanks for your thoughts
Aww Elly, I'm sorry you're feeling like that, I know as I said a couple of times that I didn't know where I was, between here, FB and the Ville lol. Please please don't feel like you have to be everywhere if you don't want to, as I said before, it was never intended as a replacement for this wonderful place, just an addition x

Hi Elly,
sorry you are feeling like that hun.
I feel a bit disjointed with it too and have always loved it here.
The ville was set up for a specific purpose as we PM'd about but I think in order to not make that feel too pressured it was opened up to use it how you want.
Mabel found it useful to have somewhere to tell us a couple of possible business developments in a less public arena and then it seemed the perfect place to discuss names for paula and then a place to jeep the sweepstake details without forever losing them in the thread and so on.
It has kind of snowballed but that seems to be cos thats how people want to use it. not sure where it will lead to be honest.
I kind of think it may be that we all chatt on here and then if we have anything we need to discuss less publicly like business ideas etc we say hey can you pop over to the ville and give me your opinions.
but really its down to the dribblers how its used. and it seems to have taken on a life of its own.
maybe give it a week or 2 to see how things settle out.

Must agree that all the threads on the 'Ville are a bit confusing but like you say i'm sure it will settle down..I think I'm finding it a bit overwhelming as I'm doing a lot on Twitter as well but i''ve stopped posting on a wedding forum so might be able to cope with here as well!
Elly...just one thing about the 'Ville..could you please post all your tale of Smirkenville over there so they are all together? (if you have kept them?) I'd love to read them again and it would take me years to find all the instalments on here!0 -
Hi everyone,
Here's a conundrum. As a business it's important to keep an eye out what is being said about you and your brand twitter search and google alerts etc. At what point does it become snooping?
There is a tool at http://youropenbook.org/ whihc allows you to search for key words and terms on people's facebook status. Only thouse who do not have their privacy settings to friends only but still the privacy policy and settings can be quite confusing.
I found some negative updates about my employer and informed them as I see it as an important piece of social media monitoring and am quite proud of the company I work for however they are unsure if they will act on it incase it seems too big brother ish.
I then thought who better to ask but my fellow dribblers to get some honest opinions from friends who are in the small business world.
