I don't think it's bad to get in touch with them for your birthday at all Jo - when we left uni my group of friends totally lost touch. Then one of them invited me to her wedding after about 6 years and then another found me on facebook and now we're all the best of friends again after having all gone totally seperate ways. It may never have happened if it weren't for the wedding invite. And i was so delighted to receive it. Once we met up it was like we'd never been apart. If they really are the friends you gel with most then your 40th might be the best excuse to catch up again. And if you find things have moved on too far then you've lost nothing. Wow i've just looked out the window and there's a full rainbow that stretches right down to the sea, beautiful!Just £10,852.28p to go...
Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
And then do it.0 -
Its the ones in between that bother me Em, the ones who were DHs friends first and all have kids too. they all get together lots and live locally and we just seem to have dipped out - probably because we are so disorganised. so we end up seeing different families with kids that fit more easily into how are lives are going right now. its hard to explain but it just feels awkward.
You are right though Em I just need to get over it and get on with it.lol

Evening all. Just a quickie as I'm sorting some end of term stuff and getting some ready for next term.
Have had the first bits of veg from the garden - pak choi and German radishes and Oh.My.God. those German radishes are eye-wateringly hot! I felt like my tongue was burning off. So beware the German radish - they are the long purple ones, not the round red ones!0 -
Lol-bloody germans...first they win the footie and now they're trying to burn you to death! Know what you mean em-this week has gone so fast.
Jo-I'm sure your friends will be glad to hear from you. Me and my best mate lost touch for a couple of years after a stupid falling out but bumped into each other in town one day-got talking and now are closer than ever.0 -
Evening everyone....sorry not been around for a couple of days was rather a busy weekend and this week is shaping up to be a bit busy as well. I think I have sprouted the first signs of little wings!
Jo- I cant say my life started at 40 but can say it did start at 45. Everything in my life started to turn around a week after my 45th, which was this year and just keeps going from strength to strength. Still a few hurdles ahead that I know I will have to sort and deal with but overall, I feel really happy and most of the time exhausted but very much alive for the first time in many years.
Mabel - ROTFL, would this be a good time to say I am 100% german, just my passport says otherwise? LOL
2cats - they are bliddy hot radishes aren't they? Really nice however sliced very very thinly and used sparingly heheh

Em - the rainbow sounds lovely!! What I would call a kodak moment and extra special!
Dilli - Sometimes very very nice to take a few steps back and to just breath and chill out and catch up on sleep! Well done on the debt reduction, that is to be commended!
