oh and if child has already got a place at the school and is on their roll for this september she can't just not send her she would have to formally deregister her from the school to home educate even if she is not of compulsory education age. if not the child will be shown as absent long term from that school and all sorts of alarms will be set off with education welfare.
does sound like she is looking for some excitement and escapism.

I completely agree with you all its completely irresponsible and stupid but then again thats her all over really. I can't help her with her debt anymore ive told her to get it sorted but it just goes in 1 ear and out the other. She had 13k worth of debt and then when I told her I was sorting mine out thru CAB hers suddenly went from 13k to 6k over night then all of a sudden they are being written off by december, I just can't quite see it somehow. I think she is seriously burying her head in the sand.0

Have just find this site where people local to each othe4 post details of things that they are willing to lend eg tools, things that they are happy to give away for free and skills that they are willing to share.
might be of interest and obviously the more people on it the more effective it will be so if you like it spread the word locally and otherwise.
only 2 people on it so far in my "mile" but think this will increase as it has had some local publicity.

Evening all!
This is my first post in this thread, although i've been following it for a while. Today was my first day of the challenge and I spent a whoping £8 at a carboot this morning! I followed someone's advise and bought 3 law text books for £5 (i'm hoping to at least double my money on those), a management text book (which i've listed on amazon, and hope to get £23 once the fees get deducted!), Sharon Osbournes autobiography for 50p, Graham Nortons biography for 50p and £2 for what looks like a local council land Act from 1901. Not a bad start for the first day, still have £92 left and once i sell all my items i already have i'll have a tidy amount for the first week.Paris - Oxford bike ride July 2012
Target £500, raised so far - £405
