Babymoo, you've given me a boost a few times, thank youI'm going to think about questions I'd like to ask my grandma (although she's already told us loads) and see if I think any of them would help you. I sometimes think I need to try to get on here and help people out more, my life's a bit erratic though...
This was my Wednesday and Thursday; Wed - got kids and packup ready, took kids through to Hull, met one grandma, went to art gallery and maritime museum, patted stone lambs, listened to Freyja's favourite story read by a drama student, went off to see poorly grandma, was proud of DS for doing 20 pressups (he's 5!), told DD1 off for karate-kicking grandma's leg in overexcitement, send DD1 off with sister for the night, went to my dad's, had best friend round, ate pizza (oopsy). Stayed up til 1am reading horrible book about abused child I found on the bookcase.
Thurs; was woken at 4.30am by DS singing the same verse of If I Were A Rich Man over and over, had lots of coffee, went to museums with my dad and kids, climbed on and off tram exhibits, carried DS past the scary models of Saxons, had lunch on grass, got train, walked kids from train to home, got shared weekly bus ticket off noticeboard, went to friend's on bus, made tea, did driving lesson, came home on bus, carried sleeping DD1 while pushing buggy and holding dog's lead home. Got kids to bed. Laughed heartily at Dribblers exploits and cheered inwardly at Skint's good fortune and Munchki being happy and all sorts of cheery things. Wrote endless post with no real point to it. Now will drag myself to bed. Happy dribbling everyone :Txx xxI have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0 -
WELL DONE SKINT! That's brilliant news hun, and I agree with what has already been said, a small sampler that leaves them wanting more is perfect. Not done much moneymaking today
BUT I did give my gran a manicure (free of charge of course) so thats my good deed for the day (the parafin wax helps her arthritus (sp))
What do you do with the paraffin wax that helps your Gran's arthritis Nikki? My fingers are really sore just now and frankly I'll jump on anything that will make me feel less like I'm turning 81 this year, rather than 41Hmmm, I was just with the OH as he was getting his hair done. He goes to a unisex salon and there isn't a beauty bit in it. I'm wondering if it would be worth proposing that I could get a spot in the hairdressers a couple days a week. On a commission rather than renting basis so its kind of 'win win'.
Would boost my client base but if unsure if its an overly brilliant idea. Any input?
Definitely approach them about this! What have you got to lose? If they say no, then you know where you stand, but you never know it might plant the seed for the future. If they say yes, then it's a home run!I am doing "journal in a jar" for my grandparents for xmas. I am wanting to come up with questions that are tailored to them. My grandma is still alive but we lost my grandad on my mums side 4 years ago. My grandad from my dads side is still alive but we lost my nana 10 years ago this year. I would like to get to know the grandparents that I have lost through the grandparents I have left. I figure it is somethign that even if I don't get to see now it will be there when something happens to the grandparents that I do have left. Hopefully not for a very long time as theyre both healthier than me lol and I adore them both so much.
My question is what questions can I ask? I've asked how they met their partners. About the day they got married, about the day their children and grandchildren were born. Ive asked about their earliest memory, and their favourite memory with their partners. It is that kind of thing but I don't want to upset anyone lol. I know that I can go to either of them and ask them anything about my grandparents that are gone but it wouldn't get far before we would be in tears and I wouldn't be able to carry on.
I miss my grandparents so terribly, especially my nanna and with it being 10 years this year this is why I am wanting to do this. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks x
I don't think I have the words to express how wonderfully brilliant this idea is Baby! None of my grandparents are still with us unfortunately, but I'd love to do something like this with my parents if you'd allow me to pinch the premise. Such a touching thought, I really love it. And I think it's great that you're getting so organised for xmas in advance!!! :T
Just popping in and back out, off to do some more flying then I'll be back. Long evening ahead of me again as DD won't get back till midnight! I'm feeling a tad tired!
Big huggy hug hugs to everyone!

Evenin’ all
You lot are going to make my eyes leak – I promise you mentally and physically in a good place. So, although a bit tired nothing as bad as previous weeks so don’t you lovely people worry about a thing.
Mabel – it is a learning experience, I got so caught up in being in a newspaper I didn’t think about whether it was going to be good or not. Lesson learnt though, lesson learnt. Hope you feel better too xxx
NLID – Wedding Annivesary, bleeding succubus/vampiric credit companies – honestly don’t even worry about the design. I am more concerned that you keep your head above water. Take time to sort yourself out, the design can wait. Bigger things going on mate!
Skint – that is bloody awesome! Well done you a very well done indeed J
Nikki – well done on sorting you Xmas pressie, it feels so good getting it all wrapped up (pun intended) early!
Jo – well done on your saving for today!
Saucy – massive huggles, want you fighting fit. Hope you are getting rehydrated and I hope that you are enjoying the sun too hun x
Munchki – I won’t allow myself to hit burnout ever again! I promise I will have a work free weekend very soon and I am going to take some time off from the day job soon too. Also, glad for you a really well deserved turnaround. What a difference from the start of the year eh? Well done you xxx give me some ice cream please!
Amber – what would we do without you, who would be there to sort out the new threads or to do no nonsense sharp shooting cut through the crap comments? Hope you are well hon x
Em – coooeee – waves! How is you! Love the scroll idea so sweet.
Babymoo – we all go MIA sometimes don’t be hard on yourself. Loving this project you are doing for your grandparents. My maternal grandparents are all sadly deceased – when my granny went she was 105! Loved her to pieces, but I have nicked my hubs grandparents, but they give me so much balance and wisdom. Also they just say some really funny things too.
Nixi – ***waves again*** I am fine honestly the last fortnight just went a wee bit crazy so to speak, but I seem to be back on track. I get dribbler withdrawl so I ain’t going no where. Send me a sausage I love BBQ sausages yummmmmmmmmmm
PaulaB - lol at DS maybe he is trying to channel his inner dribbler x

I was talking to OH about babies earlier (I know, I know. Not for a few years yet) because we were walking his nephew in his pram, and got some horrid comments (okay, I wasn't really walking, I kind of hobbled...OH couldn't stop laughing, said I looked like I'd been asleep in a cave for a few hundred years and didn't know how to walk. Lovely man :P) and I decided I want all of you to be godparents. You are all so inspirational...so I'll need forwarding addresses for the christening invites (although think ahead, I'm only 19, lol)
I love you all. I'm in such a slushy mood...OH has a friend around playing FIFA (he even asked my permission, bless him) so I'm wandering. Not far though, haven't got off the bed yet, lol.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

Sorry again x
Can't really help you re legal advice Saucy, but is it with regard to your housing situation? If so, it might be helpful to put a link to the existing thread in here, that way those posters who are already trying to help on that thread get the benefit of any input any of the dribblers can give too.
