thanks for the offer M&P but am just a dainty size 5 (the only bit thats dainty!), the pots would be great, if they are up for grabs - the shop is giving us a camping stove. Trying to keep costs to a minimum, I'm doing it for Motor Neurone Scotland and my friend is doing it for Cancer Research UK, we are normally on the committee of the local Relay for Life (raised over 1/4million in the last 3 years which is amazing since we live in a town with less than 20,000 people) but have decided to do something different this year and still support the committee at the Relay in September

    thanks

Thanks for raising money for motor neurone, skint. My mum died of it and it is an evil evil disease. She was given 6 months to live but hung on for nearly 8 years. Much of it really was hanging on though - unable to move or speak - just horrible.

Bats sound fantastic! We went to an event in the wood where you could make a bat box either there or at home - we picked up one of the kits and are going to make it for MIL as she gets them round there :)
Munchki, really want to see what the place is looking like, any chance of pics, if not here then maybe facebook?
OH is getting serious about his Master's work again, he's up at uni measuring krill, brilliant :)
Trying to think if I've got anything that'd be helpful to your trip Skint, is there anything else you need? Knew a woman who saw her mum go through Motor Neurone disease and said it was slow torture :(
MummyandPaige, if the size 7 boots are a largish 7 I'd be interested - could do with some boots! Keep thinking I'm going to hurt my feet when I'm digging :) went past someone in their garden cutting branches off their tree and cheekily asked if they needed them; now have some lovely bits of wood to make stuff with! Going to sort the boy's bedroom out now, wish me luck, it's knee-high in Lego xx
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

    afternoon everyone!

Stayed up and painted until nearly 4am!! The lounge is painted at least. my legs ache really badly today, don't think my knee replacement appreciated the ladder stints at all last night. Was going to paint the bedroom today but think that will wait for another weekend as I really dont want to do it today. So going to clean house in a little bit as my son was just here with his gf and helped me rearrange all the furniture in the bedroom, no easy feat as it is all huge and heavy and solid but done now. Once house is mopped and cleaned then am just going to sit down with some stitching or crochet and absolutely chill the rest of the day!

Paula maybe once I get some pics up I will send pics of the now rather purple(ish) lounge lol

Hope everyone else is having a good day today as well.
    xx

Ooh Munchki, it sounds as if you are really cracking on with the flat now. Looking forward to next Friday - could you pm me your address so that I can get a map printed at work?

Even, what sort of tone is the ebay lady using with you? Can you copy and paste some of it (in a pm if you don't want to make it public)? It's easier then to know what kind of tone you should use back.

Had a lovely lovely day so far. Got quite a few jobs done or at least started in the house, had an hour in mum's garden watering and doing the lawn ready for her coming back from Ireland tonight, then had an hour on my deckchair reading in my own garden. Burnt my arms a bit, but feel really chilled out. My neighbour is heavily pregnant and so feeling a bit fed up so we had a nice chat and she came in to play with the kittens for a while. I think it cheered her up a bit anyway. Done a few more jobs in the house and am just going back out to do a bit of weeding. I loooove weekends :T

Afternoon all. Have been busy in the garden so far today. DD and I went to the garden centre for supplies of weed killer/lawn feed/multi purpost feed (for veggies/fruit) and bought some herbs (not MSE!). I've grown all our other herbs from seed, but DD had been looking everywhere for pineapple sage (she saw it in an ornamental garden and loved it) and we got chocolate peppermint (smells of after eights!) and regular spearmint too. We also got some irises and a lavender bush for the garden as I've been doing some clearing and have lots of gaps now. The place we go has a pets bit so we watched the rabbits and hammies and stuff for a while and then got a treat from the Mr Whippy van on the way out :) (also not MSE LOL).

I've pottered around since. DD has planted the irises for me, and I've pruned back some of our overgrown bits (this has had to stop as the green bin is now full) and dug over the bit that will ultimately be the strawberry bed. It has a load of ground elder at the moment, so it will need several digs and a couple of sprays of glyphosate at the very least. But I have so many strawberry plants now that they really need a dedicated place just for them.

I've also weeded the spare bit of herb garden, and put in some coriander seedlings. I have parsley and basil seedlings to go in too, but they need to get a bit bigger yet.

Haven't looked in the mirror yet, but wouldn't be surprised if I haven't caught the sun a bit. Going to have a soak in a bath before I seize up - a nice cup of tea, a book and some warm water sounds nice.

On the main business front, I am less than £300 away from equalling this period in 09-10 with a week to go (and some late payments that I know will come in this week) and about £1250 short of my target for this year. However, I've realised that when I set my targets I didn't take account for the fact that I've got one fewer class running than I had this time last year, so I've actually done pretty well. I also have more due to come in in the next payment period than I would normally expect, as more people have paid in instalments this term than normally would. So overall I'm still expecting to make the target for the term, which is good news.

    Hi everyone:wave:

Does anyone have their own website that they sell things on and can you advise me the best way to go about it? I would like to set up a shop selling new things.

    Thanks

Jo - bats are just too cool... we have some nesting near our house and they fly over our front garden at dusk

    Munchki....

sounds fab! Sounds like you are really settling in and making your mark....

    Joey - Hello!!

Hey Paula... Mabel.... 2 cats and everyone else...

I had a sort of day in the garden. DS has been poorly all day so I've been pottering in the front garden weeding the shingle and potting up some sweet peas. If DS is a bit better tomorrow then we are going to spend the day sorting out the veg beds and finishing off the greenhouses.

    I LOVE this weather.....
