M&P, that would be brilliant, but only if you're sure, it would be a great help as its amazing how it all adds up, even although its going to be middle of summer up in the glens you can get 4 seaons in one day so have got myself thermals, waterproofs, gaitors, the only thing i'm not looking forward too is the ticks, just as well i smoke i'll just have to burn them out and then drench with surgical spirit! Pal hates creepy crawlies and just about sh*t herself when i mentioned adders and grass snakes! thinking of doing a charity calendar too with the photos i'm hoping to take, the scenery is stunning. but best of all no phone signal - peace and quiet may just stay there!

good luck with the driving, it opens up a whole new life - its also the start of a fat a**e as you tend to jump in the car all the time - so beware!

Ohhh bats, I adore them! I have a very dear friend whos job it is to study bats and newts and now he tells me........glow worms.......

I'm guessing you have been painting then. hows it looking?
sounds like a fab job for your friend.
the kids decided they wanted to catch bats for pets so lay out little "treats" for them on a low wall at the edge of the sitting area. these included garlic cloves from my mums olives with a little bit of olive on each to look like green flies and potato leaves, fluffy dandelion heads and bits of moss. then they lay in wait with tea towels to catch them.lol
we saw quite a few but needless to say didn't catch any. they had so much fun setting it all up though.

the painting is finally started!! I just now have a dilema lol. I have a door on my feature wall!! trying to decide whether to paint the frame and door to match the rest of the wall hehehe.......the first colour is fab, going to start on the other three walls shortly. Finally in the mood to do this and figured it is cooler in the evening so may as well crack on with it!

Yes, his job is fab, he takes me out walking and has taught me so much about bats etc, showed me the bat houses and how they enter and how they live. Next it is going to be newts, however that means an after midnight sort of walk lol........he loves his job and I would love to have his job! Where are you Jo, I might be able to find out some local areas from him as he does studies all over the country, your kids may find it very interesting!

Hi Munchki we are in north lancashire.
was really surprised at DD as she is still petrified of birds bees bugs etc inside and out but sat outside for nearly an hour this evening setting up the bat catching stuff and wasn't freaked out when they flew pretty close.
would be lovely to get some more information for the kids.
glad you are feeling up to doing the painting and that the colour is great.
hope you manage to decide about the door.

I will be speaking to him again tomorrow, so will ask him about some info and will send you whatever I have or should I say whatever he has lol.

So what would you do about the door dilema? sat here looking at it and it sticks out like a sore thumb, but really not sure what to do but need to decide before I go on to the next colour lol

munchki - I really don't know what to suggest with not being able to see it or the style of the door etc. sorry not much help.

good point.......the door is quite literally as plain as you get.......however think I will paint the rest of the room and decide afterwards or when joey and toots are here have them help me decide lol

Lovely the kitty has found a playmate and is currently playing with a moth that flew in, or should I say torturning it......poor moth........grrrrrr just kidnapped said moth from kitty and put the poor thing outside where it happily flew away!!! whew!!
