NLID, do keep trying with CCCS, I know it was one of the most difficult things I ever had to do, but the relief after speaking to them was unbelievable. You can get things started online too, so it might be worth doing that first, then they'll have the basic info to talk to you about and it might make the call a little easier too, since you'll have input everything online and won't have to go through it all again. If you've been sending token payments and they haven't been cashing them, they really are a poor lot and that will be very much frowned upon. Can I ask, have you been sending the payments to the original company, or to a debt collection agency who have taken over/bought over the debt? Also, don't stress too much about the 'we're getting our solicitors on this if you don't pay right now' letter - there's not much they can do, if you don't have the money, you don't have it. Worst case scenario they'll apply to have a court judgement against you, and to be honest that might work in your favour as a) the court will see you've been making token payments and regardless of the amount that shows willingness and b) they'll see what you can afford to pay weekly/monthly. I know this sounds frightening and it's not ideal, but there is every possiblity that the debt collectors are playing hardball by trying to frighten you to death. If you do not have the money, then you do not have the money. Take a deep breath and imagine, what is the worst possible thing that could happen? Sorry, just realised I've been ranting a bit, but I so feel for you and these companies are shocking in their attitudes. Having been there, I totally understand what you're feeling right now, but believe me, once you speak to CCCS and/or get your head around the fact that they really can't do anything that dreadful, you'll feel so much better. x

Lol I know what you are saying - everyone of these letters they send me, I just think would it be easier if I was to take the easier way out rather than do the right thing in paying my debts back.

I had my blood pressure done today whilst at the docs wtih DS - and it is the highest they have ever seen it 125/84 (Every time they have done my blood pressure in the past 5 years + it has been textbook 120/80) which could be due to DS or the debt or the fact im getting older.... There not worried but it has made me think a lot.

there is only two-three things stopping me at the minute from walking to the bankruptcy court...

    1. Our main debt is in joint names - they would then chase my wife. Meaning to get it to go away we would both need to go bankrupt
    2. Losing our house, we have literally just finished the renovation of the place to get it comfy - I want to at least enjoy it for a couple years before we have to move.
    3. Losing one of my project cars (One will become daily driver at the end of the month) - the other one has a huge amount of sentimental value - and I will not let it go - Working on this is a connection to my past, and represents all my hope and dreams.

This sounds weird given my financial position, (however consider 2 cars are off the road atm - with one going back on the road next month and the one thats currently on the road coming off to be broken for parts) but I have been offered a small car at a very good price in need of a days labour to change its engine (About £60 second hand) for next to nothing - would then sell it on for a bit of a profit.
    £4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!
    Debt free by Xmas 2015: #182 £1955.38/£4435.51 (44.08%)

Proud to be dealing with my debts

It's actually very nice to handle, leaves the skin very very soft. The only added extra I would have liked is for it to be moisturising, as I have very dry skin. But to be fair, I don't think it's as dry as it was pre snail slime. Maybe that's just coincidence though.

If you go through the application process online, they'll actually tell you when they recommend a debt management programme or otherwise - they might not recommend it, so be prepared, but if you input all your details (and the programme helps you as you go along, tells you how much they feel you should calculate for something if it's too low in their eyes) then they'll tell you what is best. These guys do this for free, they're essentially a charity, and only have your best interests at heart. Good luck x

    Hi everyone,
Saucy I agree that it was outrageous to leave you on the floor behind a door. complain or get OH to complain. PALS woman should be able to help with that as should advocacy.
really hope you get some help either through A&E or otherwise.
NLID you have had some great advice from Toots and others. All I can say is I really feel for you and will offer any moral support I can.
Em - glad you enjoyed the mini move and fab that you did the nose writing!!!
Think Joprah has gone on a mini retreat to recharge her batteries so sorry If not joining in much at the moment. got a lot on here right now as well as feeling a bit poorly still etc etc etc.

big hugs Jo! As long as you are always here that is what matters! Perhaps Joprah just needs a little R&R of her own for a wee while.

Hugs Jo, don't you worry about us dribblers, you get yourself back to normal. Have you spoken to a doctor yet, cos you've been under the weather for a while.... Great to hear everything is going well with your mum right now, long may it last. The kids will soon calm down I'm sure, it's all just a novelty right now!

ok tuesdays mini move for may.
take 20 mins or thereabouts and either look up a video on a subject/ topic you've always wanted to know about or just browse until something inspires you and the watch at least one video and no more than 3.
possible sites could be TED talks/ instructables/ ehow/ makezine
P.S if you have any suggestions for sites that other dribblers may find inspiring in either a money making or just feel good about life way then please post them on the thread.
