I think you have jumped to a few errant conclusions. As a non-union higher rate tax payer I am quite sure that I would be personally better off under the Tories. I just don't want to shaft other people whist doing it.

Some of us have morals that go beyond personal enrichment mate.
Shame the great unwashed dont mind shafting high rate tax payers by refusing to work.

It's of some amusement to me that I will probably do worse under the Tories, but still support them as they'll be better for the country.... :p

And yes, Chucky, I know voting's finished.

Are solicitors any different to the rest of the population?

I think so, because any hint of dishonesty and you will be barred from the profession for life.

    Not so much.

The modern story they scare people with is the tale of the trainee who picked up his flat mates oyster card in the morning....and ended up being struck off. No idea whether its true or not.

The Law Society Gazette (I think it is) has impressive lists of people struck of: dishonesty does exist but....the penalty is big.

DH, not small high street firm, has correct practice, and the things which we personally can/cannot do with our own finances drummed into him...we are under no illusions, a transgression would be his job, and most likely his career.

    What is your point?

    You just waffled?

Some people have been so brainwashed by Labour that they are unreachable. Never mind, Brown is history now.

    you were saying???:):)
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

fortunately the majority of the country doesn't think so.
i'd go back to updating your blog - it seems you focused your energy in the wrong areas...

it's a disaster for the tories - the worst recession since the 2nd world war and they can't get a majority government over Gordon Brown.
