Not everyone, Really. Those on benefits won't lose a penny. ;)

    So that's all right then.

A lot of the working population receive some kind of benefit so that is not true.

Also a VAT increase to 20% will hit everyone.

So everyone would be hit but the working hit harder.

It may be you need to adapt to the changing situation whoever gets in fc.

If your meaning for things to carry on the same or similar as it is then we may end up bankrupt or in a even bigger mess as a country.

I know I know...but we climbed out of the downtrun, set up a whole new business model and it's kicking a$ $ and I don't want it to stop (selfish thinking so apologies :o_ We had a miserable ''Boom'' too.
OK..How about just 2 years so the morgage is gone?...just 2 little years then I will hunker down and face the new era of austerity.

I thought it was the Tories who were likely to put up VAT, whilst Labour was likely to put up NI?

In which case, the Tories plans would mess up everyone, but hit the poor hardest (incl those on benefits), whilst Labour's plans would hit those in work most.

So no surprises on either side, then. :(

Actually, I will confess here that we are already prepping for the 20% VAT and am off to Istanbul end June to organise some samples.
Will still make here but we are a bit trapped by price points and customer expectation on what things should cost where we trade ..so....Turkey get's a bit more margin so we wouldn't have to increase our RP when 20% comes in....our margin will remain the same (or a bit more).
Our export is good though and has increased so this quarter got a refund.

I do like export.....going to find out about Govt paying trade show costs to show in Vegas for next Feb/March too.

Up until tonight, I was 100% convinced on who to vote for...now I am wavering.

    Would never be Labour though......

Eldest is absolutely gutted, too young to vote and he really really wants to and he knows exactly who he would vote for...the same party he is standing for in the school elections (they are not the ones in red).
Don't want to turn the thread into personal circumstances :A, but I think Labour have put a lot of funding into supporting families through low/no income periods, adult education, schools, social & childrens services, social housing standards etc etc

This is why I don't quite buy the idea that we all only vote for what immediately benefits us. The idea often batted around on this board that the only non-tory voters in the country are workshy numbskull leeches is a complete myth....

Though a social housing 15% equity stake is very tempting.... cheers Dave ;)

Very surprised the last few days who (friends, family and colleagues) will be voting for who.... I thought I was good at reading people!:o

fc. The vat wont hit your profits directly as you must be vat reg, so why not do your little bit of cutting back by keeping your price the same and swallowing the expected 1% vat rise and keeping your turnover up.

I learned that from Maggie Thatcher :rotfl:

I've never quite understood that, as we don't have children I just work for my money, nothing comes out of a hat here...
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I'm off re-reading the manifestos again.......
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
