Legend is a very nice phone. I have one and have been blown away by it. It is a bit cheaper than the Desire which is in turn cheaper than the Iphone.

To be honest they are all excellent devices.

Legend is the cheapest and looks the best, Desire has the best screen (unless you are outside on a sunny day) and processor (so it runs the fastest) and the Iphone has the history and by far the best range of applications to run on it.

I've got a Desire and could afford an iPhone if I wanted. However I wanted a better screen, a faster processor, true multi-tasking and the ability to install apps even if they hadn't been approved.

You forgot expandable memory Bill. ;)

I think a lot people who buy them really want an iPhone but can't afford one so they settle for a HTC phone instead.

Can you explain what makes you think that and what features you believe the iPhone has which would make people prefer it?

I have had the Desire and Legend, and went back to the 3GS, all good phones, there isn't a bad one amongst them....Go and have a play with all three, see which one floats your boat.

I stuck with the 3GS, as I am a fan of iTunes and have loads of apps, docks, iPhone integration with my car radio/sat-nav etc, but if I was starting again from scratch, the Legend would probably edge it ahead for me.

I had an iPhone 3GS for a while and the strangest of things put me off it.
On my morning commute, I looked at the people on the train who would just sit with an iPhone in their hand waiting for something to happen on it, to everyone else it was like some sort of marvellous invention and to me it was a phone that played music and games! I ended up getting embarrassed getting it out of my pocket incase anyone thought of me as an Apple fanboy the same way I thought of everyone else!

I now have a Desire, and admittedly I don't use all the features that these smartphones have, I do like it's interface and it's a very nice looking phone.

I am also after an iPhone and have recently checked out the HTC range. Not a fan of them really, and I think a lot people who buy them really want an iPhone but can't afford one so they settle for a HTC phone instead.

Thats why I can get an iPhone on £20 a month with unlimited minutes/texts/wifi/internet.

Wow, HTC fanboys are even worse than Apple ones.

They are phones. Different people like different models. Accept it and move on ;)
