I think I want an iPhone!

I've had my Desire for 5 weeks now and have been using it extensively. It hasn't crashed once. The screen resolution is much greater than that of the iPhone, the processor much faster and you can add memory via a card slot (which the iPhone can't do). And you get Google Maps sat nav for free. Battery lasts me 1-2 days depending on usage. It's a pretty neat music and video player too. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

What do you mean "use it as an ipod touch"? Games, apps, MP3/Music etc? You can use HTC (and other smart phones) phones for that too.
I think she means that you can stick it on your PC and sync it with your iTunes. Like you said though, you can do that with any phone nowadays. My nephew is an iPhone fanboy, and he says it's because you don't have to think much with one, you just plug it in and go.
Personally, I love the techiness of my HTC Desire. It does everything an iPhone can do, and more. Yesterday, I loaded the voice to text and modified keyboard apps. Now, I don't have to write texts, I can just speak them and it writes them for me.

Not seen any reports of either HTC crashing, speed/battery can be an issue but just get an app killer ( Advanced Task killer free)and use it immediately after startup, it closes a load of stuff you don't need.
User Reviews on cnet give the iphone a measly 6.3 compared to Legend 9.8 and Desire 9.2!0 -

I am also after an iPhone and have recently checked out the HTC range. Not a fan of them really, and I think a lot people who buy them really want an iPhone but can't afford one so they settle for a HTC phone instead.0

Do grow up.
I've got a Desire and could afford an iPhone if I wanted. However I wanted a better screen, a faster processor, true multi-tasking and the ability to install apps even if they hadn't been approved.
I've got all that with the Desire, the fact it's cheaper is just a bonus.
The only advantage the iPhone currently has is the number of apps available, approx. 200,000 at the moment. Android only has 50,000 but the number is increasing rapidly and there's still plenty to choose from.
BTW Welcome back Fifer, you appear to have been sorely missed in DT. There's a big thread about you. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

Yeah, righto! Go Google and read the reviews, the HTC is better, quicker, brighter etc etc and it's not made by Apple!
Re: not being able to afford it, maybe they don't want to be robbed just cos is it's an Apple product???
Again i repeat:
Cnet reviews:
1 iphone 9.3/10, but user review is only 6.3 (26 reviews)
2 HTC Legend 9.2, user review an incredible 9.8! (6 reviews)
3 HTC Desire 9.2, user review 9.2 (23 reviews)

First, read THIS and see how far HTC have come in a relatively short time. The Desire is currently rated the number 1 phone.
Next, read THIS and take a good look in the mirror.0
