I cannot comment on all 'Labradors ' only well bred ( a long provable pedigree of docile and biddable dogs ) ones :)

I am sure there are other boards with people who will respond like that. Maybe you should go hunt them out.

This is way, way out of order :mad::mad:.

Read the top of the page - This is an open forum - anyone can post.

It is not your place to chase people off and this is not your forum.

Anyone is allowed to post - from new pet owners to experienced professionals; from rescue workers to pedigree dog breeders; from people having problems with their pets to behaviourists and dog trainers. This is an open forum - anyone can post.

Whilst I have no wish to get involved in the current debate (hence my lack of posts so far), your comments need addresssing and I suggest that it is you who needs to back off.

Unfortunately, you are not the first to try these tactics and you probably won't be the last :(. By all means disagree vehemently with posters if that is what you want (I know I do frequently ;):o) - give your opinions, no matter how they may differ - but don't ever try to imply someone is not welcome on these boards simply because you don't agree with them. Dollparts is on the nail when she says that this is ugly reading.

Once again for those who haven't got it yet ...

This is an open forum - anyone can post.

ETA Just to be clear - I am not disagreeing with mrcol's other posts (agree with a lot of what she posted) - just objecting to that one comment.

mrcol is absolutely right though - the majority of A and E dog bites are from labs. I was very surprised when I read about that too. And its not because they are the most common dog breed now, as we all know.

I am not sure if people are trying to put me off getting a dog, trying to be the master of the pets forum, or just being stubborn.

I would understand if I were Sharon down the road with 4 young kids in a 2 bedroom flat, who spends her days down the pub wanting a dog. We are a decent young family well me and my daughter, OH not so young (he will probably read this :rotfl: as he know my user name)

We are moving to a lovely rural location, with plenty of garden space and lovely indoor space. I have a thing about things being dirty, so babies toys are put away when not being used (no chance of slobber) I adore being busy and having plenty of things to do, what is life without a challenge or two?

I am home all the time, even if I do work, my dog wont be left for too long during the week and will have a visit. He would have plenty of quality family time and would have a very happy and spoilt life.

I do think breed is important, if you are looking for a specific nature/size/ etc as they are usually true to form, if they are a bit naughty, its nothing a good bit of training can not resolve.

I am very confident in myself as a person, as a loving human being a responsible pet owner.

+ you are arguing with a bigot, nothing can change my mind about anything I KNOW I am right on :D

So anyone can post as long as they don't post anything anyone disagrees with?
I never told her not to post her I just suggested if she was offended by the responses she was getting she might be better going somewhere else. I don't think anyone has told her not to post here??

I don't think she was offended, she was putting her point across and that does look like you are telling her to post elsewhere.

It does also look like you are trolling (even though you are a long standing member) you are going against everything I am saying, even though I have addressed everything you have thrown at me.

I feel like this thread is getting a bit nasty now and indeed ugly reading.

I think your post is an over-reaction.I think both of them had a point in their own way perhaps put a bit forcefully. It is so sad this thread has degenerated into an argument. Can't everyone chill out now and agree to disagree?

Unfortunately for me the debate is whether I am a suitable dog owner or not :( and I am afraid I cannot agree to disagree on that one. I would understand if it were a debate on a 'child friendly breed of dog'
