Or every time the Conservatives are in they avoid investing in anything so the books look kind of ok (although the debt went up massively between 1979 and 1997) but all the infrastructure is falling to bits so someone ends up having to spend too much to get it fixed.
So was that your debt? Nothing to do with the Conservative Government?
I do think that anyone who votes for Labour must have lived in a room without windows or electricity, as a more stupid person than G Brown could not be imagined.
No more boom and bust?? Really. A referendum on the EU Constitution? Another failure. Sold our gold reserves at bottom of the market. He did all that for US?
Well, sorry I do not want that sort of person running the Country I love and respect.
1. Insult all Labour voters how mature. Er G Brown is clearly a very clever man... maybe its you that are stupidified because of your blue tinted glasses?
2. fair point, but maybe the Gold was sold before the value dropped anymore (which was incorrect in the end). Not everyone is right all the time. As for boom and bust, % unemployed is lower than previous recession that weren't as severe interest rates are low allowing people to keep hold their homes etc
3. 'That sort of person', hmm yes you'd much rather have Chameleon Dave? Sad.
If the Tories get in they cut benefits I don't get but families rely on and er give their rich pal and themselves a huge tax break.
Oh and lets not forget the sort of nutters they align themselves with in the European Parliament.0 -
Of course, Labour is the party for the poor and working class. That's why B.Liar who tricked a lot of people has amassed millions, Prescott spends his time quaffing Champagne and playing Croquet and another large chunk of them are 'flipping' houses to make thousands in profit and to avoid paying Capital Gains Tax. This profit should go back into the general coffers so that 'poorer' people should benefit - the ones Labour is supposed to care about. Yep - the Party that really cares. I'd laugh if it wasn't so serious
Well said. I'm sick and tired of the tired old mantra that the Tories are rich whereas the likes of poor old Peter Mandelson are on their uppers - just scraping by and down to his last million no doubt and of course the Blairs only live in a shack:rotfl:. There are plenty of people in the Labour Party far richer than many Conservatives. The rich/poor party stereotype is seriously outdated so last century yet it is trotted out time and time again.

I think you'll find the stereotype still has some relevance. A Tory rag tried to imply that G Brown and D Cameron had a similar background.
The fact that the Tory boy would be something like 300th inline for the thrown if it wasn't for his illgegitimate bloodline oh and he went to a top public school.... G Brown didn't. So not exactly the same at all. The CONparty are a party for the well off and anyone who is working class or employed in the public sector that votes for them needs their heads read.0 -

Cool I can quote myself..... the Scots have got it right only one current Tory boy.... because as a poor nation with lowly paid people the CONparty are of no use.0 -

GB is clever but he is partly responsible for the banking mess - he was chancellor for how long - did he put controls in place to monitor these banks - no!
Labour have destroyed family values - sure id lose the family tax credit under the conservatives but I cant stand another x years of labour
Do you seriously believe the unemployment figures- there are more public sector workers than ever before - most naturally in non-jobs and they dont count all unemployed - i was officially unemployed for 1 month as i took a natural break but i wasnt entitled to anything so after my 1st week of signing on i didnt bother - there are lots of people in the same boat as alot of people cant be bothered with the awful signing on process
GB makes me want to slash my wrists
Id think about emigrating if labour stay in power - they dont care about people who want to work for a living - they are there for the dole badgersStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
I think you'll find I was merely pointing out that poster I had quoted had picked some favourably dates for their argument. You haven't chosen to comment directly on how well THIS RECENT recession has been dealt with.
Maybe the fact I'm Scottish and have had to put up with Tory governments despite them never being the majority party in Scotland also has some relevance.
Finally wasn't it the Tories that allowed an awfull lot of manufacturing base to happily disappear, infact some mighyt say actively destroyed such as the mining industry?
what do you mean how well it has been dealt with - biggest debt accumulated ever- yes thats great, thanks and goodbye...after 13 years of spend spend spend - typical labour - if the conservatives get in then theyll have to clear up the mess, yet again
anyway - politicians - they are all liars and although i voted conservative they are only 0.1% better than the others and i benefit very little whoever i voted for (i have read their manifestos - i think an 8 year old could have written a better one than the lib dems! whereas the conservative one was written by a cretin who had swallowed a dictionary) - i was disappionted that when voting i wasnt given a tail and pin (as in put the tail pin on the donkey) as that would be more fun and rather apt!
whoever gets in it will be cuts cuts ciuts - now there would be a first for labour!!
why do people say GB is the worst labour leader? I mean I cant stand him but seriously people have short memories - Michael Foot, Neil Kinnock to name just two!!Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

Hmmm all governmenst are in debt and if you do your research you'll find some major economies have much higher debt in terms of a % of GDP than us. Japan is over 100%. Debt itself is not always bad..... but hey you just go quoting what you hear in the Tory press.
You are clearly blinkered or maybe the tax breaks for the uber rich will help you?0 -

Banking mess G Browns fault partly? Hmmm do you honestly think the Tories the party of deregulation would've put greater restrictions on their business buddies......0 -
Well unlike other people threatening to leave the country..... yeah right. I think I'll just move back to bonnie Scotland at least I'll be able to pretend the Tories have disappeared as they have given up north of the border.... oh sorry they'll retain their one seat. Funniest thing in whole election campaign was DC moaning about the lack of support for his party. He can thank maggie for that, it'll take a long long time for the Tories to undo the damage she did to the communities north of the border. I'm surprised the Tory toffs vote share wasn't decemated in the North East after his election gaff...... but hey maybe the Tory press only reports Gordon's errors.0

Tories ARE the "rich party". Majority of them have had everything handed to them on a plate. They have everything they need to succeed. The standards of education they receive are incomparable and they don't have to face so many obstacles. This is why they can't and won't empathize with ordinary people.0
