What a great friend MG and aw at your son. As you say, some lovely cosmic Karma going on there.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
100 day challenge mind map has been done - OK it's boring, but what the heck
And I've even made a wee start on compiling the details that I have for Dad's stuff :T
I need to go out @ 2.30 so anytime before then is fine (if not I'll leave the stuff in a bag behind one of the Buddha's at the front step)Debts 07/12/2021

His reasonning - "look what you are doing with nothing!!! You just need a little boost to get you going and you will be off. You've always opened your house to me - fed an watered me and this is my way of saying thanks -besides you cant start back as a speaker turning up in a minibus (Got a point there actually)

Now he's just run out of the door and DS1 has come to me with a £20 note - saying "Stew says this is my spending money for my trip to Legoland with grandma - he says I've been a good boy helping you. Would you like it to buy a new phone instead?"
Wow, that's fantastic! Two amazing guys! :j:j:j
Enjoy the new phone - and clear a good big corner of your dream wall to make a gratitude or thankfulness wall!Firewalker wrote: »There is a book called 'French women don't get fat' and the reason is - they compensate. They eat a little bit of everything and compensate heacy with light days. The reason I am telling you that? It is the same with writing. 'Just persist, persist with the persistence of a drug edict..' Jack Keruack (sp)
I noticed French food labels seem to show women's RDA as 1900 calories, instead of the 2,000 we Brits are supposed to aim for. And french women really are petite! At least where we stayed.
I am trying mentally relabelling edibles as either 'food' or 'junk'. It's amazing how small a proportion of what goes onto supermarket shelves is actually 'food' when categorised like that.
I like the idea of balancing light & heavy days in general - I try to fit in too much that I 'must' do, ending up not doing most of it. e.g. if I exercise I don't fit in playing the piano. I think it would help me to allow myself just to keep one activity vaguely ticking over some days and focus on something else - rather than not do and feel I've let myself down. So thanks.
Must go - freezer is bleeping at me and it ain't supposed to do that.Miggy

Awww, what a great friend and lovely lad you have there MG
You asked for a strawberry pie recipe? Most the one's I have are strawberry tarts, generally with a cream cheese layer underneath or cream on top.
Apparently this baked pie is good but the cinnamon is a bit strong:- 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 cups fresh strawberries
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Place one crust in a nine inch pie pan.
- Mix together sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Mix lightly through the berries. Pour filling into pastry lined pan, and dot fruit with butter. Cover with top crust, and cut slits in the top. Seal and flute the edges.
- Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the crust is slightly browned.
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

i'm finally all caught up with this from start to finish.
hope to feed off your collective motivation over the next few days 'cos I was hoping I would feel human again by now and I still don't (i'm a secondary school teacher still feeling the effects of end of term-itus. i'm dog tired and have !!!!!! all motivation to do anything. can't even be bothered with the flylady style 15 minute bursts
i've had a few days of doing nothing much, got to start kicking myself up the bum because my list of things to do over the school 'holidays' is twice the length of my arm and i'm never going to get anywhere at this rate.

Even better - file that list where you can't see it and choose just to do one little thing a day.
If you feel OK with one - then do another - but the moment your cannae be bothered itis kicks in then stop. Be kind to yourself for a while.
Remember I am running at 100 miles because this is my full time job - yes!!!! Getting myself back into work is my full time job. I'm not trying to do this AS WELL AS a full time job - that way lies insanity:o
Teeny, tiny baby steps until you feel up to doing more.
........... and stay with us a while - our antics can get pretty lairy.
