............... and I haven't got nearly enough writing done today:( which is really bad because its the one thing that is actually really imortant. I suppose I oculd have let Stew come and visit me in a sloppy house really, couldn't I??

...............but I think we all knwo the answer to that one:rotfl:

So quick tea and getthe kids showered - then knuckle down and do some writing Memorygirl

    Memorygirl

Hi MG, glad your house is looking good. Today I don;'t have to worry about mine since I can't see it - visiting a friend and co-author to do some other kind of writing.

There is a book called 'French women don't get fat' and the reason is - they compensate. They eat a little bit of everything and compensate heacy with light days. The reason I am telling you that? It is the same with writing. 'Just persist, persist with the persistence of a drug edict..' Jack Keruack (sp) Oh, Lord tired...

Off to dinner. Look after yourself and these boys of yours.

    Hi girls

MG you are anaughty girl - all l a can think about is pies - drool. I think we should go to yours for lunch - well in our dreams. How many hours till breakfast ?:rotfl:

I remember the first thing l was taught to cook at school was a pastry cobbler (platt type thingy) but the filling was divine - baked beans, chunks of corned beef and chopped onions. Mix together and stuck in the cobbler. You could do a real cheap pie with those.;)

844 - You must have died of shame when your MiL turned up - totally embarrassing. I hate unexpected guests - when family come over l go in to overdrive a few days before - mind you stick stuff in draws out of site only to be caught out by DH saying in front of everyone whats this doing here !!!:o I swear he does it on purpose
Today is my first time of hanging up my washing on the clothes horse in the spare room. Its all dry now and another load of washing in the machine with the timer set to go on during the night. I did put my towels inthe tumble dryer yesterday as l do love them soft but l cut up one of the fresh sheets in half to save a bit of money.

DH did do a bit of shopping down but kept it low as get paid on Friday this month. Plan on going to Aldi for a check of their prices, Lidle is too far away from me though. I have talked my sister who has a Costco card into taking me along with her when she does her next big shop to see if l can buy in bulk on things. I am so on a mission with decluttering and also economising.

844 can you give the odd tip every now and then for us who haven't got the book? It would be a great help to all us with CHAOS:T
    Bye for now xxx Mooooooooooo

Shaping up to be quite a morning here at Memorygirl Manor:j

HAd a bit of a disaster yesterday - was cleaning and DS2 got hold of my phone and managed to drop it in my bucket. Now the phone is 4 years old, cracked and a bit sad - but now is completely pooped.

So plans were made and apparently Asda has best offer on an Orange phone so we are off there soon.

My mate Stew arrived about 9pm - he's already left to go up north to collect another Jeep. So we had an Indian - when I say an Indian, we had balti chicken, lemon rice, naan, rathia, cucumber relish - all made from stores and ladled out from the slowcooker 10 minutes after he arrived Mmmmmmmm!!!

Had along chat over a couple of martinis (Cider in his case - he's not one of "those" friends). He was gong to swap my 1999 Astra for a school minibus that they are building me (fair enough because he can strip down the Astra and apparently sell the bits for more than enough to cover the work on the minibus)

He was looking at my Dream wall and saw that after the minibus i had a goal of "replace the family car with something uber-economical to run"

As an early Christmas present he is now going to tart up the Jeep he is collecting today(costing him £240 to buy), fit it with some sort of water kit that makes the fuel go twice as long and slap a bow on it............. I was gob-smacked!!!!!!!!!!!

His reasonning - "look what you are doing with nothing!!! You just need a little boost to get you going and you will be off. You've always opened your house to me - fed an watered me and this is my way of saying thanks -besides you cant start back as a speaker turning up in a minibus (Got a point there actually)

So it seems the Universe yet again has delivered the right person at the right time.

Its so easy to be grateful when so many good things start to happen.

Now he's just run out of the door and DS1 has come to me with a £20 note - saying "Stew says this is my spending money for my trip to Legoland with grandma - he says I've been a good boy helping you. Would you like it to buy a new phone instead?"

Well of course I said no - its his money, but if I manage to get a phone for less than the twenty pounds left in this weeks budget he can have the balance as well - just for offering :)

What a good lad - actually they are both very good lads

How fantastic! What a great friend to have! Although I suspect that you have probably been as good a friend to him in different ways in the past.
