crickett, i think this may be an issue with something in themselves which makes them feel scared. People ofent use words that are not necessilary accurate, but enable them to 'not see' or admit it is actually them with the problem.

If could be that you are very efficient and self assured, which reminds them that they are not, and that 'scares' them .... ergo... you are scary.... when actually it is them scared of themselves.... iyswim....

First of all hands up people who are accountants and work in a university? There seems to be as many of us here as there are people who live in Fife (is there an interesting subsection of accountants who live in Fife?)

Don't try and tone it down too much or you'll never get anything out of them, I know what it is like trying to get deadlines met in a university.

Try and do something with them outside work either social or for charity. We did a day gardening and painting for a local nursery, where you got to see the other side of people, with the exception of one guy where we saw even more of the same side that we are already sick to death of but some people just don't have redeeming features (I'm sure that's not true of you Crickett) :)

Thats a good idea Helen... might see what we could do. Of course, they have to stop running around like chickens with their heads cut off first! :rotfl:

    Aaaaaargggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

back on the dongle - the "brand spanking new" phone line to the house keeps cutting out meaning the broadband connection gets corrupted too.

as usual I am being told 5 different things by five different people at their call centre.

    1. my account is not activated and it will take 3-5 days to get sorted.

    2. my account is being "migrated" which means i wil have no internet for 3-5 days (doesn't explain why the phone line keeps dropping out though)

    3. the job hasn't been signed off by the engineer - so i have never been able to connect or make calls - well i have on both counts

    4. excuse one again - obviously a default "get-out-of-jail" excuse

    5. Your phone line is faulty - YES YES YES - the only answer that makes any sense.

Except everytime i get close togetting through to report a fault i get the line dropped again.

can someone with a superfast connection do a quick surf for me and find a talk-talk number that i can phone from my moby thats not going to bancrupt me please???

pretty , pretty please - with cherries on the top.

    memorygirl

BTW it was a bt engineer who installed the new line so not all Talk-talks fault i should think
