    My children are 16 and 13 :)

I have a dishwasher, but if I don't empty it, dishes just get left on the top.

Mornings are so chaotic here I wouldn't get any help, I know in future before I sit down to do things for me, to clean first.

all done now anyway, just gonna put washing on the line then meet mum for her appointment. (am hoping she will come back here and help me sort through more boxes, as she said yesterday she enjoyed her self on monday rummaging through all the beads :))[/QUOTE

It's a bit harder, but at 13 & 16 it is possible to 'retrain' to some extent, normally via small steps. They would understand the logic of if they don't make their own sandwiches they spend their pocket money/allowance to buy some instead :D

Also if the dishwasher isn't emptied before dinner, dinner has to wait until someone empties it so there are clean pots to eat off :D

We did find with chaotic mornings it worked better to allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes, so we had a calm relaxed start to the day instead of the chaos, prep the night before helps too.

Hope I don't sound like a cruel mother with the tough love approach, but it's also teaching them basic life skills for when they're independent.

    No you don't sound cruel,

They do help but in other ways like helping prepare meals i struggle with, helping me get dressed if i'm struggling, they change the bedding put new on cause i can't do quilts, so i try then to take some pressure off them by trying to do as much of the other housework myself.

    Hi guys,

MG I received the book today... thank you so much! Very glad the car/money situation was helped by the Universe!

I haven’t just gate-crashed, demanded a book and left you, I’ve been trying to read the thread from the beginning but you all talk so much I’ve had to start reading the thread from both ends...... I will look at the blog when I’ve finished the thread.

Clairewop what about putting a fanpage thing on facebook and asking all your friends to ‘like’ it, link it to your website but also put lots of your photos on there and prices. A few people I know have done that now with their new businesses.....not sure how well it works but it’s another way of getting your name out there. Sorry if it’s already suggested.... I’ll have a look at your website in a sec as I need to think about Christmas presents.

MG when you start making your way down south on your tour, I might be able to help with cheap flights... if you ever want me to have a look for you just pm me. Also if you send me a sales pitch for your books plus a way to contact you, I can put it on my ou course pages and maybe some of the other students would buy them (especially when i tell them it’s thanks to you and your book i passed my exam!).

I was part of the mikes mob thing you suggested and it was an amazing outcome for everyone. I hope I can help all of you in some small way... once I’ve caught up!

Hi Mike! Don’t know who asked you but very well done to them! (edit: i think i know who)

Oh and a silly question.... when you write down your wish and put it in an envelope for the universe to take care of... where do you put it?!

    Psycho x

I have a fan page on facebook but I'm not very technically minded so i haven't a clue what i'm doing

Oops - forgot to say HUGELY exciting news re. Mr Big coming to visit.

Claire - I looked at your jewellery page the other day and your pieces are stunning - I do think you should charge postage costs as someone else suggested and also that you could have a higher selling price for some items. Re. the workshops if you were near me this is definitely something I would sign up for.

I'm getting quite a big head here all the positive things that have been said about my jewellery :)

The positive comments on your jewellery are well-deserved clairewop, you're very talented!

Love the new challenge, having some real ME-time rather than sitting reading a book feeling guilty that I should be doing X, Y or Z, I'm going to get myself a spa basket too! I have lots of lovely smellies but rarely relax and get the "benefit" of them....

Yesterday I felt reasonably smug as I do a huge amount of research into fun places/local events/ things to do/crafts etc with DD, mainly at weekends, so I hope that as she gets older she'll always fondly remember the us-time, which is pretty much a huge part of my life. That's just reminded me, I need to check we've got a present ready for her friend's party on Saturday and firm up plans to meet with friend(s) for music fest. Wooosh!

  • Hi MG

How exciting that Mr Big is coming to visit :j
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly things are moving for you,
and am very pleased for you that the dreaded CTC arrived despite their best efforts :rotfl:

I am struggling to start the challenges at the moment, but will endeavour to start when I return from my long weekend away :)

Clairewop, would you consider making jewellery from beads that other people own? I have a lot of tigers eye pieces (that used to be a necklace ;)) a present from a friend in South Africa, but the string broke, and sadly I cannot wear it anymore. If I sent them to you would you be able to restring them for me? I would be willing to pay for it to be done and any postage costs.
I just wondered whether that could be another side to your new business?
Please feel free to ignore this if it is not something viable.

Sorry for the hijack MG :embarasse

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
