Hi MG
I'm in Leeds and have DDs aged 16 & 17 so between them & their friends I have access to a lot of teenagers and will certainly offer your course around.
On a different issue, do you still need wooden flooring? I have enough unused laminate flooring (bought from IKEA around 4 years ago) to do a room 17 ft x 13ft. You could have it if you are passing.0 -

Congrats kittikins :T
And I have viewers who have sold their own property coming to view mine tomorrow - keep those positive thoughts coming through please!!
Idea.......as well as aiming at youngsters, how about those studying teacher training? I did a cert-ed a couple of years ago, and everyone on my course had no formal teaching qualification, as we were all teaching 16+ students in our chosen fields, so there were people, for example, who teach art to adult education evening classes, or cookery workshops, or even midwifery refresher courses etc. None of these people had done the traditional PGCE teacher training, and were coming at it from, generally, a non-uni background.
We all found the cert-ed really tough and mind mapping was thrown at us left, right and centre as a tool to use, except no one actually taught us how to do it or how it could benefit us, so we almost all struggled, and continued with our more traditional note taking.
I reckon that a lot of those people on my course would have welcomed a session on "proper" mindmapping techniques, and other study aids. Plus (certainly in our LEA at least) we were all given non means tested grants which not only covered our fees but gave us "extra" to cover books, software etc, so the cost of your study day should not be prohibitive on a cost basis for those students.
So, might be worth finding out from your local colleges who is doing these courses - PTLLLS (a short 6 week course) CTLLLS (don't know how long this one is) and DTLLLS (full 2 years). They are the "preparing to teach in life long learning sector" certificate in teaching in the LLLS" and Diploma in teaching in the LLLS".
Hope that helps!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
