when i was about 8-9, i was into the Wizard of Oz series of books.
Another one i love was The Wishing Chair.... oh and The Magic Far-away Tree.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -
Scaredy-cat I LOVE the Faraway Tree! My daughter loves them too now and we often re-read them. Did you read Cherry Tree Farm and Mr Galliano's circus? When I feel really down in the dumps I read one of my old Enid Blyton books or one of the "Jill" books-just the best pony books ever-and it takes me straight back to my happiest childhood times, snuggled up in bed with my teddies and a torch, bliss.:)DMP Mutual Support Thread member no.2490

Hi MG
Just wanted to say thank you for the books, they arrived today. Can't wait to start reading them tomorrow. Take care0 -
Yay... I've finally managed to read your whole thread! :j
I'm now feeling a funny mixture of joy, excitement and absolute fear! I'm going to start working my way through the challenges tomorrow... I think this has come at just the right time for me. I've already begun making changes in my life over the last few months but I need some direction and clarity that I think this will help with.
How do I get a copy of your book Memorygirl?
Right... I'll be back after my skating session tomorrow.Ironically, skating was one of the things I was utterly passionate about as a child! For me it represented a mix of absolute concentration, escape, fear, exhilaration, challenge, excitement and neverending learning that just made me glad to be alive to be able to experience it! I started properly skating again a couple of months ago after a 24 year gap and am slowly relearning things I used to be able to do. It still gives me the same buzz and I'm absolutely loving it! (Even the things that are far scarier to do as an adult rather than as a fearless 8 year old...lol!

Morning
Happy birthday for yesterday Crickett, sounds like you had a lovely day :T Chatsworth is just up the road from me, I went to the shop (I know, I know, but I had to pretend it was a museum because I couldn't afford to get into the house! :rotfl:). And I LOVE Scarthin books - the litte cafe is ACE! Really must get myself down there again soon :T :T
Going to catch up on a couple of challenges today. I'm finding that I spend SO much time writing for work etc at the minute, that if I'm faced with writing for 'fun' I just put it off and off and off!So I'm *thinking* about the challenges instead, mulling them over over a few days, and just writing down the outcomes rather than all the windy processing...
As for bubble blowing - I have a pot of bubbles on my desk, and another one on the kitchen table, and have done for years - they get blown all the time - my bubble blowing technique is *excellent* :rotfl: You can't be grumpy when blowing bubbles! :rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone!
I love Saturdays, me! Pottering and doing my things! May even make it to the allotment for an hour or so.
Enjoy yourselves, let's hope we are all reporting a good day next time we post!DEBT FREE SINCE SEPTEMBER 2015 :beer::beer:0 -
Can you all stop posting on here for a few days please. I've been away and am struggling to catch up with this and the blog.
Thank you for your consideration.
Well, fat chance of that happening :rotfl:. So far I've calculated my 2 numbers, 1st once nice & low, 2nd one £173.68. Eek . Am now about to:
a) start thinking about elimination list
b) google recruitment sites for premium rate phone calls (am thinking could double it up with taking in ironing).
MG  to further delay in money being sorted last week, hope it's straightened out.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
