Yes, Hypno, it most certainly does.
Thank you. And once more, it is a BGO (Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious!)
Shall go and re work my list of must haves.
"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
Hi friends,
a brief update from me and sorry for not having been around much. I have been trying to keep everything going anf it proves rather challenging at times. So what has been happening (which in my case has loads of 'what I have been thinking' element to it)?
After writing my perfect week and my lists I have been experiencing some interesting effects. On the one hand, I have been doubting my 'perfect week' and the list of 'I must haves'. My perfect week sounds very similar to what I should be doing - it consists of joyful writing, speaking to large groups of people (some young and junior, some not so young or junior). What is different is that this is on a larger scale, with much more recognised results than now and very structured/organised. Also there is no organisation involved (my image is of me in my study at home) and no jet-setting around (I though I enjoy this). My doubt is: why is my perfect week so similar to what I already do? Am I developing the disease called 'lack of imagination'? But as a result, I have been changing my days - on the organisation front. Now 'I write only when I am inspired and I am inspired every morning at 7.12'. Five minutes ago I finished another chapter of my book (the fun one).
About the list, Hypno I understand what you mean existentially - I lived through it as well. Most of the things on my list are intangibles - apart from positive wealth and my men (sons and OH). As OH helpfully pointed out last night I probably already have some of these things already (running stuff, for instance). But the point is that choice is difficult but highly necessary - in fact I suspect there are two matters for me to approach. a) Making the list as specific as possible; b) choosing one thing. The rest is easy - I just go after it with all I have for the next 30 days.
For me Mr Big came at exactly the right point as well: I have had my crisis; I was already moving forward. This challenge gives me the structure I need (so no procrastination or seeing it as an intellectual exercise) and the pace to go through some discomfort. But I am certainly changing, and changing fast.
One thing that I have realised is that comparison is 'toxic' - the purpose of all this is to find the best in oneself and grow, not to try and become someone else. As Muhhamad Ali said 'If I were not the best boxer in the world I would have been the best rubbish collector in the world'. The Universe is really mentality and the strive to better oneself has immense consequences.
Sorry, too long again - this the price for me staying away for couple of days.

Forgot to mention - mind mapping saves me so much time that I'll have to revisit the semi-joke I made couple of weeks ago. MG, I am becoming a force of nature and loving it. Unfortunately, my mind maps are unlikely to feed the black market - too messy but they are perfect for me.

back from the school run and chores outside for the day.
a huge of wind of change is blowing through this house - and outside actually its blowing a hoolie.
thought i'd let you know what happened this morning to prove that the universe I am playing with has a sense of humour.
you know about 100 pages back i stated that i wanted to manifest a 1/2 size violin for ds1 as there is a suzuki teacher who will trade him lessons for me doing the transport to and from school?
so i have merrily being visualising him receiving his 1/2 size violin and polielty saying thank-you and joyfully finding the motivation to practice and love his music. Even committed with mr b to source a suitable violin in the next 30 days.
Teacher measures him today and announces - "I think the 1/2 size is too small, long fingers, long arms - look to get 3/4 maybe!!!"
So i have been asking the universe for the wrong thing - and it knew so all the time which is why - guess what? everyone has 1/4 size violins and no-one had 1/2 size - but i should have been asking for 3/4 size anyways.
that will teach me to be very careful won't it? I should have been asking for his "perfect violin" and not got in the way of myself.:D
I'm now in my smart suit and heels and heading off to talk to my old accountant about an exciting possibility - so loads of postive energy bouncing around the universe for everyone today - its going to be a day that rocks.

When you first started talking about violins, didn't someone offer you a 3/4 size one?

i'm back - got a cuppa on the go and my comfy shoes back on:D
the accountant was so fab to me this morning. he gave me his cold hard analysis of what he saw as being my strengths and weaknesses - then a restorative cup of tea. then he took his accountant head off and gave me a "stern" talking to (bearing in mind that he looks like Santa claus that is not very) about being waaaayyy smarter this time in building a business.
so i got a list of things i need to do and think about to take me onto the next step of getting back to work.
his next client came in as i was leaving - and he explained who i was and that we had made a "off to uni" present for his niece.
the guy that came in (with his wife) own a couple of HMO's for students in ST A and they have bought 15 of my books to make special gifts for their new overseas students arriving:j:j
she is off to put the rest of the packages together today from my list and will collect he books at 5.
"i love it when a plan comes together"
So big plan for rest of the day is to sort out a broadband connection asap - easier said than done when you are trying to compare talk talk and bt (the only two suppliers up here).
Anyone got any recommendations?

Right place, right time, spotting the opportunities! Thats how Duncan Ballantyne reckons that he does it. Well done. I also seem to recall somebody offering a 3/4 size violin in the earlier pages. Go back and check as they may still have it for you.
I have BT business broadband at home, expensive but I really cant fault it. Can you claim this as part of the business expenses? If so I would recommend BT as it has unlimited wotsits (oh I am so technical :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) well, all I know is that I can do anything without incurring penalties etc whereas my friend with Talk Talk just got told off for using too many wotsits for her tariff and has received a warning  She is now scared to even watch a youtube clip. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
I'm another one who recommends BT over Talktalk, for the same kind of reasons as above
I was posting a cheery, can't wait for you to come back and tell us of your success with the accountant kind of message and had a powercut, so lost it all - and lo, here you are!
Right - if anyone wants a qualified chaperone, I'm your gal after 4pm today, off to spend 3 hours learning the fine art of chaperoning, CRB certificates a-plentyHave added it to my map for ideas on how I can work term-times only!
